Today we’d like to introduce you to Margaret Cahill.
Can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today. You can include as little or as much detail as you’d like.
I have experienced many cycles of life that have contributed to my current state, but I do not believe that success is linear. On some days, I wake up as the woman I have always wanted to be and on other days I am faced with the task of shedding the past and integrating only what is useful to me at that moment. I find peace in the notion that we are not the same person we were last year or even yesterday. Each morning, we are born anew with the task of creating our own reality. This is why a meditation practice has been so profound for me. Through tuning in to the present moment, I have been able to gain perspectives that have shifted the trajectory of my life.
Has it been a smooth road? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way? Any advice for other women, particularly young women who are just starting their journey?
Every season has its struggles. The more you live through, the more assured you will become of your ability to make it through them. So, trust yourself. Forgive yourself. Find whatever it is that nourishes your soul and feed it more of that. Don’t be afraid to do things alone. Become the person you need.
We’d love to hear more about We Are Light Beings.
We Are Light Beings is a collective of visionaries who are dedicated to raising the vibration of the earth through the elevation of our shared consciousness. Lightwork is a non-secular form of prayer that is extremely powerful and palpable in a group setting. It involves cultivating love or peace within your own body through meditation and then visualizing it’s spread to the darkest corners of the world and the people within them. This practice serves to direct the untapped energy of those who feel like they have a larger purpose in society but may not have the ability to influence global conflicts through conventional means.
We are all light beings because we require the energy of the sun to survive. This global community is an acknowledgement of that interconnectedness to the earth and our own inherent divinity regardless of individual beliefs.
What do you feel are the biggest barriers today to female leadership, in your industry or generally?
Detach from the outcome. Your career may not be your life’s purpose, but it will teach you who you are. Do not stand in your own way or doubt your ability to take a position that you think you are unqualified for. There is always a learning curve. If you want to be successful, choose a job that allows you to be yourself and your strengths will reveal themselves.
