Meet Trailblazer Paige Drysdale

Today we’d like to introduce you to Paige Drysdale.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I have always had an interest in the arts. I attended dance lessons, vocal lessons and modeling/acting classes growing up in Sedona, AZ. When I moved from home, I began teaching modeling/acting classes at a school in Denver, I enjoyed my time but there but decided to attend college back in Arizona and learn more about the production side of the business. I began by studying Broadcast Journalism and then moved into studying Film at a University. I knew I was passionate about the arts and the world of entertainment but, I wanted to find which role in the business would work best for me.

I started exploring the different roles that the business had to offer. I began looking for Production Assistant gigs to get my foot in the door. After getting hired as a Production Assistant, while onset I started asking the crew members about their positions in the production company, how they got to where they were, and if they enjoyed the work they did. This helped me get a better insight of how it is working on a real set as a crew member and finding which roles sparked my interest. I began looking for full-time work and found a job with a start-up fitness platform as a Social Media Manager then moved to working for the company as a Assistant Producer and Casting Director. Later, I started working with an talent agency that I had been signed with in their casting division. Now I am focusing on advancing my career in modeling/acting, doing social media influencer work, and developing my blog.

I really started getting more invested into my modeling not to long ago. Although I did grow up attending classes focusing on the creative arts, it did take me a minute to become more comfortable with expressing my creative side as an artist. I attended modeling school growing up and I have been signed with a couple of different agencies throughout the years, but when I began working with more local photographers is when I started to become more comfortable exploring my creativity. When hired as a model for photo shoots, video shoots, etc, I visualize myself in a scene. I want to become a character to tell a story through my photos and really connect with the audience.

My goal this year is to dig deeper into my creative side and be more confident about my artistic expression. I want to work on my film-making, photography, blogging, singing and to bring more to the table as an artist.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It has not been the smoothest road. Although life is hard for everyone, we all go through hardships. Deciding to find a career working in the world of entertainment, most would say has a very slim chance of being successful. This is what I love to do though and where a lot of my passion is geared towards. I want to grow in this business, and strive to complete goals that I have set for myself.

My advice would be to not let go of your motivation. There will be people supporting you and your dreams as an artist. But there will be also be people who will try to take advantage of you and to bring you down. Be strong. Remember what sparked your creativity and dedicate yourself.

We’d love to hear more about your business.
Currently, I am working on my modeling full time and do social media influencer work. I am also working on my film-making as well as my blogging. Although I do have a couple other passions I would love to explore, like singing, acting, photography, etc. I am excited for what this year has to offer and the opportunities that present themselves.

Which women have inspired you in your life?
Someone who has really inspired me in my journey and has in a way given me guidance is, Stevie Nicks. The way she carries herself and how her character shines while performing is very inspiring. To me she is very mysterious, yet a bold personality. Even through her hardships and struggles, she continues to embrace her talent as a musician and artist. In hard times I usually will turn to the albums of Fleetwood Mac and her solo albums, getting lost in the lyrics to find my comfort and have peace of mind. I would be very thrilled to see her preform live one day or to even meet her in person. I have many quotes by her that I admire but one I believe would work well for this would be, “Don’t be a lady, be a legend.”.
