Travis Luckhurst has been in the tattoo industry for 15 years. Before settling in the industry, he was interested in becoming a comic book artist, but he quickly found he didn’t seem to fit in with the other artists. Ultimately he was looking for a job that would allow him to have the freedom of doing art always.
Travis was drawn to the tattoo industry because he enjoyed the graphicness of the art and that it was seen as an outcast artform. He had finally found a place to fit in when he found tattooing. Not only does Travis enjoy the art he gets to create he also enjoys working closely with so many unique individuals.
Has it been a smooth road?
It was not a smooth road, it was like an old country road that no one has used in 50 years. Now that the tattoo industry is exploding it’s even harder, but that makes Travis work harder and push himself. Ultimately resulting in better art for him and his clients.

Travis owns Axiom Tattoo and tries to produce the best product he possibly can. He is known for a laugh and good time. The shop is known for its cleanliness and positive vibes. Travis specializes in involving the client in the entire tattooing process, he as warmth and welcomeness to him.
He is most proud of how he has made steps at making the industry feel more like a community and at having a place where he can create that community. Travis feels like what sets him apart from others is his mix of personality and professionalism.

Travis grew up in San Diego, so he has always loved the chill and positive vibe that encompasses San Diego. He has aspirations to be more involved in the community that surrounds his profession.
