Meet Tyler Anderson of Casual Fridays

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tyler Anderson.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Tyler. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I was an early adapter to social media; I was all over MySpace back in 2003. By 2005 & 2006 I was leveraging MySpace with some of my more prominent clients as added value when I worked in Radio Advertising. That’s when I had my ah-ha moment and recognized social media marketing’s potential. In 2009, I decided to make a go at it and started my agency. By 2013 I expanded to the East Coast, and today, Casual Fridays is a virtual agency with teams in San Diego, Atlanta, Miami, and New Orleans. We work with exciting consumer-facing brands with an emphasis on hospitality, tourism, and entertainment.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Being an entrepreneur is never a smooth road. There have been plenty of bumps & bruises along the way; however, I wouldn’t change it for anything else in the world. The biggest struggles were learning how to scale the business. That and managing a growing team. There were many times I felt like I got dragged into working “in” my business versus “on” my business.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Casual Fridays – what should we know?
We are a digital and social media marketing agency. We have worked with hundreds of brands over the years including Marriott International, SeaWorld San Diego, San Diego Tourism, KAABOO, and many more. We work with exciting consumer-facing brands with an emphasis on hospitality, tourism, and entertainment.

Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
Way too many to mention and I know I’ll forget someone, so I’m not going to try and list them all. However, without a doubt, I have to give credit to my business partner, Bill Vieux. I brought Bill on full-time in 2014, and that’s unquestionably when Casual Fridays matured as an agency, and when we saw our hockey stick growth.
