Today we’d like to introduce you to Ursula Bensimon.
Hi Ursula, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers.
I was born and raised in France and came to the United States about 30 years ago. I’ve always had an artistic mind with a passion for singing and photography. My dad and my grandfather were both photographers and my son has recently begun his photography journey, so it’s clear that photography is in my blood. I started Bensimon Models & Talent nine years ago with the idea of creating an agency that is boutique and specific to my style, a business model that differs greatly from other agencies in the industry. I wanted to create something more ambiguous and more diverse. I wanted to have a very unique brand image and sell a high-end, artistic look. I believe that my success is a direct result of my artistic eye as well as my strong business mindset. I have strived to nail down my brand image and acquire talent that helps to cultivate that image. The power and strength of my artistic vision have driven my business and made it successful.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
My idea of building a boutique agency in an industry dominated by larger, established companies meant that I was facing a strong headwind from the very beginning. I had immense belief in my vision, though, and knew that sticking to my convictions would be the secret to success. I set out on a mission to find only the highest quality models and talent, all of whom were personally tested in front of my camera. My work eventually paid off, and now the industry considers Bensimon Models & Talent as one of the most high-end agencies with the highest-caliber professional models.
I also feel as though I can’t close this answer without mentioning COVID-19. As with any small business, COVID’s impact was certainly felt amongst the Bensimon Models & Talent family. Much of the entertainment industry shut down in 2019, and now, this 2023, things are slowly beginning to pick back up again. As frustrating as it was to see my amazing talent sit at home instead of doing what they love on set, it was my close-knit relationships with all of my families that kept us going. We knew that we could get through it, especially with each other by our side.

Bensimon Models & Talent is a full-service modeling and talent agency that represents children from two to eighteen years old. We are also expanding our family division, providing opportunities for parents, children, and siblings to work together. We specialize in print, commercial and theatrical work. By specializing in various components, we allow our children a wide breadth of experience, so they can discover where they excel and where their passions lie.
Bensimon Models & Talent is truly something special, providing top-notch talent to some of the biggest brands despite our small size. The boutique nature of our agency allows us to work one-on-one with our talent, helping to foster their craft, providing personalized feedback on their growth and assisting them in living out their wildest dreams.
We just celebrated our 9th anniversary, and that in and of itself is a testament that we’re doing something right. The entertainment industry is well known for being intense, and to not only survive but thrive is something truly amazing. It all comes down to the initial reason I started Bensimon Models & Talent: to provide cherry-picked, high-quality models to the industry. I’m ecstatic that we’re being recognized for our vision.
