Hi Vanessa, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
First I’d like to thank god and everyone that he puts in my life. 🫶🏻
My name is Vanessa, I am 29 years old and I have 2 daughters, 2 pit-bulls and a boyfriend of 4 years.
Before starting my business in PHP (people helping people) I was in a dark place mentally. In 2018 I separated from my ex, 2019 my car was stolen, 2020 COVID-19 hit and I found myself homeless with my kids. I then met my bf and I started helping him with his business. After a couple years of seeing his hard work and dedication to the community, in 2023 I started my own business in PHP.
Through my experiences I have realized that we are able to change our world.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Like many other starting up businesses, mine has not been a smooth road. 2 months after starting my business in PHP I was in a car accident that totaled my car. I was without a car for about 9 months and it felt like 2019 all over again, except this time I had a different mindset, thanks to the people in PHP my kids and my boyfriend to help. I’d like to thank him and my kids because they help with so much and everyone on my team that keeps a positive mindset.
As you know, we’re big fans of PHP Agency. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
I am an independent life insurance agent through PHP.
PHP stands for people helping people. We are in the financial services industry. We educate the community about finances, retirement planning, life insurance, and annuities.
We represent about 30 different companies and each have their own products and services.
We also offer the opportunity to anyone that wants to become a life insurance agent through PHP Agency and start their own business.
I am known for my dedication to helping clients secure their future and protect their families.
What sets us apart from our competitors is our wide variety and use of different tools and the application of those tools, such as debt consolidations, 401(k) & 403(b) rollovers, annuities, business strategies, IRA/ROTH IRA, final expenses, retirement plans, and life insurance with living benefits. We also work with ITIN numbers.
We are not just life insurance.
One example is a 30-year-old business owner who bought a policy from NLG, a company I represent. Three months later, she was diagnosed with breast cancer. Thanks to NLG’s living benefits, she received $250,000 without affecting her death benefit, giving her the freedom and peace of mind to focus on healing and reinvest in her future.
Another story that made me most proud brand wise involves a young woman who was an agent and bought a policy from Foresters Financial. When she unexpectedly passed away, Foresters honored her policy and provided $50,000 to her family, helping cover funeral expenses and providing some financial relief during a difficult time.
These experiences highlight the real impact of what we do. At PHP, we prioritize integrity, diversity, and inclusion, offering not just policies but peace of mind to our clients.
What matters most to you? Why?
My daughters, my boyfriend and our 2 dogs without them I wouldn’t be who I am. They teach me patience, love, even when it’s ugly and to always be kind.
