Today we’d like to introduce you to Victor Tello.
Every artist has a unique story. Can you briefly walk us through yours?
I’ve been sketching ever since I can remember, I stared out sketching comic book super heroes and family portraits. Art came in and out of my life as I took on different sports and hobbies but art was always there for a creative outlet and therapeutic reasons. In the past decade I’ve taken on endurance sports seriously and competitively, cycling has become a daily way of life whether it be for commuting or competition. Cycling has now also inspired me to create art again but this time with a specific niche. Combining my two favorite passions is a new-found joy and I’m excited to share it
Please tell us about your art.
My art is mostly digital and I use traditional print making techniques. Digital allows me to create images in a more efficient time since my art time is limited due to having a full-time job and spending a lot of my free time cycling. I dream of being a full-time artist someday and exploring other mediums.
What do you think about conditions for artists today? Has life become easier or harder for artists in recent years? What can cities like ours do to encourage and help art and artists thrive?
Social media has taken the rains for artist success these days so I think it’s become easier, although there is definitely more to choose from. San Diego doesn’t have the massive art following like Los Angeles but SD is definitely starved for more art galleries and the numbers of art shows and fairs seem to be growing.
How or where can people see your work? How can people support your work?
Instagram is probably the most popular platform for artist right now and it’s been absolutely fun for me. I’m planning on creating a website eventually but you can check my art out in Instagram at @velotheory.
