Meet Victoria Parker

Today we’d like to introduce you to Victoria Parker.

Every artist has a unique story. Can you briefly walk us through yours?
As long as I can remember, I have always had some kind of camera in my hand from a disposable one all the way to the one I have now. I found it quite relaxing. Most of the photos take of my nieces and nephews were taken by my younger self. A few years ago, my nephew was joining the Army and my sister wanted family photos. I took my camera, my family, and off we went to a plateau to do my very 1st session. It was in that moment that I realized I had the power to “freeze” priceless moments for people. That I was head over heels for photography is an understatement.

Today I have the honor to capture the new chapters in people’s life and I love every minute of it. After many collage classes in multimedia and photography I have come to learn the power of the in-between moments and the story telling that comes with it. When brides tell how much they are in love with their future husband and how they meet, not those are the moments that I love about being a photographer and why I decided to dedicate myself to this art.

Please tell us about your art.
I’m a wedding and lifestyle photographer. My art consists of moments that my clients want to remember for a life time. Time that stands stills, moments that take your breath away those are the occasions that inspire my art every day. I hope when my clients look back on my images they can see and remember every detail of that specific moment and all the felling come back from that memory. I want to be able to capture and be able to be the pause button of their life’s precious moments. My artwork is light and airy with pops of colors. Most importantly, I capture the in between tender details of my clients love stories.

Choosing a creative or artistic path comes with many financial challenges. Any advice for those struggling to focus on their artwork due to financial concerns?
My advice to fellow artist would be to find the free apps, free locations and free knowledge to improve your art. In my case which is photography, it can be very expensive. From experience, you can start with an entry level camera and one good lens your art will come out as your vision and brand. when you are knowledgeable in your art you can create magic with minimal equipment. take advantage of the many free tutorial’s videos on YouTube, the free version of apps that help with your art, even as simple as creating your own hashtag. That way your clients can see all your public work in one social media outlet.

How or where can people see your work? How can people support your work?
Those who are interested in seeing my work can do three things: 1. visit my website. 2. go to my Instagram page and 3. visit my Facebook page. The biggest support that people can do is liking, commenting and sharing my images and or post from any social media. Also, word of mouth to friends and families.
