Hi Yamhed, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I’m Yamhed, founder of Tulux Resortwear. My story begins in Galveston, Texas, where I was born, and continues in Guadalajara, Mexico, where I spent most of my life. Growing up, I was always passionate about creativity, connection, and cultural expression, whether through event planning, marketing, or storytelling.
After graduating with a degree in Digital Marketing, I took on bold adventures that shaped my path: living in London with just a flight ticket and a small amount of money, starting over in Texas, and eventually building a life in San Diego. Every step taught me resilience, vision, and the power of believing in your ideas even when no one else sees them yet.
Tulux was born from a mix of dreams, courage, and a deep desire to celebrate the sensual, powerful, and divine energy of women. I launched it with my own designs, limited editions, and a boutique in Pacific Beach, San Diego. Every piece is inspired by nature, goddess energy, and the vibrant fusion of cultures I carry with me.
My journey hasn’t been easy, I’ve faced anxiety, self-doubt, and burnout. But each challenge has led me to reconnect with my purpose and create something that feels authentic. Now, I use my voice not only to build a brand, but to inspire other women to take risks, heal, and follow their own light.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road, but each obstacle has helped shape the woman and entrepreneur I am today.
One of the biggest challenges was moving to a new country and starting from scratch. I faced cultural shock, financial instability, and the emotional weight of leaving everything familiar behind. I also struggled with anxiety, burnout, and what I later learned were signs of ADHD. For a long time, I pushed myself to do it all, trying to meet everyone’s expectations while silently battling inner chaos.
Building Tulux was both a dream and a test of faith. I invested my savings into my first collection, managed every detail alone, and dealt with the constant fear of not being “enough” not fashionable enough, not American enough, not strong enough. There were days I wanted to quit.
But every small win reminded me why I started. I leaned on my creativity, my spiritual connection, and my purpose. I’ve learned to embrace rest, ask for help, and trust that growth isn’t linear. I’m still learning every day, but I now see every challenge as a sacred part of my evolution
