Meet Yukeiry Michelle Aguirre Cebreros of Culiacán Sinaloa, México

Today we’d like to introduce you to Yukeiry Michelle Aguirre Cebreros.

Hi Yukeiry Michelle, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Since I was very little, I’ve always enjoyed spending my time drawing; I could say I found a refuge in it. As time went by and I grew older, this love for drawing also grew and evolved with me, becoming even stronger during the pandemic. I practiced every day, to the point where I felt strange if I didn’t draw or illustrate.

When I started university, I decided to follow this passion for drawing by combining it with graphic design, and that’s how I chose to study this beautiful career. I’ve learned new tools like illustration, animation, and design, and so far, I feel I’ve improved a lot. I’d love to keep perfecting my skills and continue learning.

This art has become a big part of who I am: if I’m sad, I draw; if I’m happy, I draw; if I’m feeling a lot of things at once, illustration helps me channel everything I have inside and express myself. I hope it always stays that way.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
I feel that this journey has been full of learning experiences, but the most challenging part has been dealing with creative blocks and the feeling of not being enough. Even so, I believe I’ve learned to handle these moments better over time, largely thanks to the people who are always by my side, supporting me and reminding me that the tough times are temporary and that, sooner or later, everything will go back to normal.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I have a degree in Design and Multimedia Arts, and I specialize mainly in illustration, animation, and graphic design. I believe these disciplines are powerful tools for communicating and connecting with others.

Much of my work is recognized for how I blend illustration with everyday moments from my life. I often use my character “Yuki” —my illustrated version of myself— to accompany me through the day and bring a unique, personal touch to my content.

One of the achievements I’m most proud of is having participated in the Mexican fan project for Stray Kids, where one of my animations was selected to be part of this amazing project. I had the incredible opportunity for my animation to be shown at the GNP Stadium, where the members of Stray Kids saw it along with over 65,000 people. It was a truly special moment that reaffirmed my love for what I do.

Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
I know it might sound cliché, but seriously really, truly trust the process. Be patient and don’t be so hard on yourselves. Everything comes in its own time, and the most important thing is to keep moving forward with love and consistency.

  • It’s funny how, since I was little, I was afraid of technology and computers because using them stressed me out a lot. Now, my job is to be on a computer all the time, and I find that really funny.
