I’ve worked with numerous entrepreneurs over the years and have learned the various theories behind entrepreneurship in business school and in law school. However, being on the ground floor and doing it myself has opened my eyes to the strength of character an entrepreneur has to have. It’s not easy.
After nearly two years of business consulting on the side, while also pursuing my legal career and running a nonprofit, I decided to officially create ContriVision Consulting Services. There were too many examples of clients with meaningful business ideas who simply lacked the business know-how or didn’t have deep enough pockets to bring on a support team. This is where I thought I could help by providing quality, reasonably priced business consulting to address all pitstops along the entrepreneurship journey.
Overall, our slogan says it all: we’re millennials; we’re entrepreneurs; we’re perfectionists. These three things together identify the quality of services we provide: we focus on innovative methods for business problems that often utilize technology; we understand first-hand the struggles of venture creation because we do it ourselves; we work diligently to get results for our clients because being perfectionists demands it of us.
Bottom line: We want to help our clients contrive (#TenDollarWord) their business visions by mapping out and navigating the way with them and, sometimes, for them. We want to make the world a better place one start-up at a time.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
The short answer: No. I’ve always had a bit of career A.D.H.D. Over the last three years or so, I’ve consistently held 3-4 jobs simultaneously, most of them being ventures of my own creation. This has all happened while finishing law school and taking and passing one of the most difficult bar exams in the country. Being a bit of a perfectionist and also not myself an independently wealthy person has meant that most of this work was done all by myself. Needless to say, I’ve sacrificed having much of a social life along the way. However, it has and continues to be rewarding.
Please tell us about ContriVision Consulting Services.
In a nutshell, we help other entrepreneurs map out their business visions and navigate the start-up hustle. We do this by offering a variety of business consulting services, such as business formation support, website creation and maintenance, marketing and branding support, operations management support, and employment compliance. We have both the practical know-how since we are ourselves entrepreneurs, and also have some serious education to boot. For example, I hold undergraduate and graduate degrees in business, as well as a law degree with an emphasis on employment and business.
Despite our wealth of experience, we stand out among other business consultants because our prices are purposefully low. In addition, we bundle services together to make them more affordable and also to ensure that our clients get a holistic experience. Every facet of a business, especially a new business, must be nurtured. Our accessibility and approachability in how we nurture our client’s businesses are probably what makes me most proud.
Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
I don’t necessarily know how I feel about the idea of luck. Luck can often imply a lack of control over your own life, which, if I’m honest, isn’t very empowering. I like to think that every decision I’ve made, regardless of the result, has been necessary to get me to where I am today. Good luck or bad luck aside, I’ve made my way here on my own. And for that, I am proud.
