Meet Zach Luz of Shungite Coaching

Today we’d like to introduce you to Zach Luz.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
One day, my mom gave me a Shungite necklace. As a contemporary mystic, she was quick to point out the mystical roots of this Karelian, cure-all crystal. I didn’t pay it much attention as she rambled on about the Russian villagers who boast about the stone’s supposed ability to cure people of any sickness, simply by placing the stone in water and drinking the water. I rolled my eyes but put it on.

The following evening, I was scrubbing dishes at my mom’s house. We had just finished eating and I noticed my mom wasn’t inside the house. Suddenly, my sister screamed. My mother was choking. I ran outside and did the Heimlich Maneuver, squeezing her sides until the steak that was lodged in her throat, flung out onto the lawn.

My sister cried. My mother tried to make a joke. And I held both of their heads on my chest until the tension passed. Then I felt an indentation on my chest from the Shungite necklace’s I was wearing. No achievement will ever compare to the gratitude I felt at that moment. Up to that moment, my whole life had been about achieving things that other people deemed to be important.

Like many of us, I was chasing external validation and was collecting as many ego-driven accomplishments as I could rack up. The passport full of stamps. The magazine with our sunglasses featured on some celebrity’s face. The jaw-dropping, ayahuasca story that would scare my normal friends, and make my conscious friends jealous.

In that moment, none of that shit mattered. As I held my mom and my sister, I felt for the first time, that I had achieved something real.

And I was free.

My goal is to create moments like these for my clients. Where they continue to achieve the things they care about, but to do so in a way that is deeply fulfilling and meaningful to them. It’s about reclaiming your power, without making anyone else wrong.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Here’s a handful of challenges:
-getting a cease and desist letter from a $30M company 12 days after our Kickstarter launch.
-leaving the company I started in tears and feeling like I was abandoning my brothers, even though I knew it was the best thing for everyone involved.
-reaching the secluded island getaway I had fantasized about for decades only to realize that I missed human connection once I was there.
-getting cheated on and the shame/heartbreak that comes with that.
-having to sleep on a friend’s couch, while technically homeless, while one of my clients slept in the other room and was in-the-middle of one of my coaching programs.
-higher-self smackdowns (on a regular basis).
-the guilt of giving up on “hard work.”
-feeling like I’m absolutely insane about 67% of my life.
-the disorientation that comes when psychics, astrologers and healers are precisely accurate with predictions about your life and coming to grip with a new reality.
-not being able to adequately thank the women who supported me in the early days and tolerated my volatile lifestyle.

We’d love to hear more about your business.
At Shungite Coaching, we help business owners who have “made it” by killing themselves, transform their business into something that rejuvenates them.

Typically, they’ve already spent thousands on coaching, masterminds and retreats. Our clients are incredibly capable individuals. They solve basically every problem you can throw at them, they are just “stressed out” a lot.

As a company, we’re most proud of our clients.

One client ran a 7-figure fitness coaching business and felt like she needed to run a 40-mile marathon in 95+ degree heat in order to serve her clients, properly. (She actually did that, by the way). After working together, she has decreased her work schedule, enjoys self-care on a regular basis, is in the best relationship she’s ever had and has tripled her revenues, as well. In her words, “You tripled my income without making me do anything I didn’t want to do.”

Every client is different and we can’t guarantee such staggering results every time, but we’re very proud when they happen.

What makes us different?
We focus on the subconscious mind, which is responsible for 95% of our cognition. Most performance coaches only have access to 5% of a client’s mind.

Our clients reprogram their subconscious mind to trigger thoughts they’ve never had before, which lead to actions they’ve never taken before, which ultimately lead to results that they’ve never experienced before.

What were you like growing up?
My mom was an alternative healer, who was usually beating on a drum while waving sage as she danced through our living room. My father was a computer programmer and 17-time national champion at futsal, which is a version of indoor soccer, but it was the 80s, so being good at soccer back then was like being really, really good at Badminton, now.

As a kid, I got the full spectrum of personality characteristics. I inherited my mother’s intuitive gifts, her care for others and her connection to the etheric. From my father, I inherited his persistence, he gave me the gift of integrity and he instilled a confidence in me that has taken me around the globe.

Almost every weekend, we’d have family BBQs and I became really close with my siblings and cousins. I had a fantastic upbringing, feel extremely fortunate and am grateful for all of the love I got to feel to this day.
