Meet Zander Fryer of Sh*t You Don’t Learn in College in Downtown

Today we’d like to introduce you to Zander Fryer.

Zander, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I used to be a “successful” corporate professional. at 27 I had a $250k salary at Cisco Systems as a systems architect. I was designing networks for companies like Disney, NBC, Sony, etc. I had what looked like success to everyone else, but I didn’t feel successful. I knew that I needed to make a BIG change. So in August of 2016, I quit my job – cold turkey – with no idea what I was going to do. I had frivolously spent most of my savings while in my job so I was lost, almost broke, and had no idea what I was doing.

Over the next 3 months, I connected with and weaseled my way into working with some of the most successful coaches and entrepreneurs in the world including people like Jack Canfield, Patty Aubrey, and Craig Ballantyne and started my own successful coaching company. I grew it to a 6-figure business within 4 months and we had our first 6-figure month within 12 months.

Now I’m the best selling author and our team of 6 has helped hundreds of entrepreneurs escape 9 to 5 jobs and design businesses around their passion… it’s been a wild 2 years. 😉

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Oh god no. I put myself over $30k into debt and almost got kicked out of my lease when I was first starting. I was days away for being homeless at one point. But by far the biggest struggle was going through the loss of my best friend.

My best friend (whom I had known since I was 10) took his own life 6 months into me starting my business. Here I was a coach, that had worked with people through traumatic experiences and PTSD… but I couldn’t help him. The guilt and resentment has been one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to endure, but it will also be my greatest teacher that still fuels and drives to help others like I never would have thought possible.

Sure there are dozens more but those are the two biggest for me that come up now.

We’d love to hear more about your business.
We help aspiring entrepreneurs break away from 9 to 5s and build businesses around their passions so they can have a bigger impact on this world. We specialize in working with other coaches and helping them get transformational coaching businesses up and running, whether that’s in the health and wellness space, the life coaching space, or the spiritual space.

What sets us apart is we get results where other people can’t most people don’t realize that the reason they aren’t successful isn’t that they don’t have good strategies and tactics to follow. There is plenty of that out there. The reason they won’t succeed is their subconscious programming. 95% of our brain is out subconscious programming. And for decades it has been socially and culturally programmed to prevent you from doing what you truly love. We actually re-wire our clients subconscious, removing the mental roadblocks that prevent that from success.

What were you like growing up?
I was a learner, curious, playful, and always “breaking shit” and getting into trouble. I think that’s why I’ve been success. I’m not afraid to “break shit” and make mistakes to learn from.

I have always been an interesting combination of an introvert (and intellectual) and someone that cannot survive with a connection to others. To me, nothing in this world matters with the people that matter.
