Rising Stars: Meet Amanda Weinberger

Today we’d like to introduce you to Amanda Weinberger.

Amanda, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I lost my job during COVID so I decided to pursue other areas to try to make a living. I have always loved fitness so I felt that was the next thing for me. I had been doing CrossFit for about 7 years so I decided it was time to finally coach. I got my Level 1 training certification as soon as I could, and my life has been all about fitness and helping people ever since.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Not smooth at all. Money has honestly been my concern since I started this journey. Most CrossFit coaches I know have full-time job and coaching is something they do on the side. Not me. I committed myself full time to the craft. That being said, I still have to find other creative ways to supplement my income. Let’s just say I work as hard as I can to fill all of my free time.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am an artist. I went to school for art. It was the only thing besides athletics growing up that I cared about. I try to make art as often as I can and it has helped me so much. I love painting. I started a little side business a few years ago rescuing old, broken surfboards and turning them into wall-hanging art. I sell them, but I don’t sell a lot. I mostly do it for me because I love to paint and I love surfing and its a shame to see those boards get trashed.

How can people work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
I am always interested in learn. On my own, from other people through collaborations, taking a class or a course. Whatever it is, as long as I am passionate about it I am open to learning. So, it is fun for me to work with other people to learn about things, especially where we both get an opportunity to learn.
