Today we’d like to introduce you to Analisa Six
Hi Analisa, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
How I started and how I got where I am today feels like a lot to try and condense into one article but I will do my best.
I grew up in rural Eastern Washington and was raised by a family who was very spiritual, progressive, creative, musical, and academic. I was taught at an early age that wealth is not how much money you make, or how successful you are in the material, but wealth should be measured by the love you have in your life through family, friends, animals, community, your connection to nature, and whether or not you have the privilege to wake up every day and have your basic needs met.
I am really grateful for the way I was raised as it kept me searching for people, places, things that aligned with a sense of integrity and values that led me beyond settling for superficial and unhealthy environments. In my mid 20’s I got sober, began working with dogs, rediscovered my love for the occult and mystical arts, began learning Tarot and Astrology professionally, and started working on my solo music.
I studied Astrology and Tarot under famed author, feminist, and tarot creator Vicki Noble and am a certified Motherpeace Tarot reader and teacher.
I currently reside in LA and offer 1:1 consultations and classes for Tarot and Astrology, Dog training and walking services, Cat services, I recently took up painting , and I continue to write music. I have been writing music and performing since I was a child and released my first solo album called Shadows of 9 in January of this year.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I would say in some ways I have been blessed to have a lot of things come into my life in a very cosmic and synchronistic way that at times has been smooth but everything I have been through has come with a lot of struggles and challenges as well.
I think being a mixed race woman born in a rural community in eastern Washington came with a certain set of challenges that are unique to my experience. Entering the music scene of Seattle at 12 years old and beginning a musical career that young was also an interesting experience that I still feel I am recovering from mentally and emotionally in a number of ways. It’s taken a lot of healing for me to have the confidence to put my solo music out into the ether. I know I am still working on healing a lot within myself around my past. My career with Astrology and Tarot has helped immensely in that healing process and continues to.
I have had a lot of ups and downs when it comes to working for and with other people. I have learned so much and have tried so many things.
I have been self employed since 2015 and being self employed is always a challenge too. Some months are better than others, some years are better than others. I have learned to embrace the winds of change in my life as much as I can because the only constant in life is that all things are temporary.
I think the biggest challenge I see for myself and a lot of self employed artists and practitioners are facing right now is the game of social media. The demand for us to build a large brand or platform and pump out constant free content on multiple platforms with little financial traction or reward is exhausting. And the tech companies are doing a fine job of making the algorithms harder and harder to navigate. I love social media and love using it as a form of creative expression and marketing, I am grateful that a lot of it is free to use. However, the climate has changed so much. It used to be easy to build a brand and generate business organically and now there is a lot of shadow banning and nonsense that makes it harder for your followers to see or engage with your content.
I also have a hard time with having to consistently learn a new app or interface for everything. So many apps for everything that all seem to do variations of the same thing. And a lot of people seem to judge your validity not based on your skillset or your expertise/education but more so on what is happening with your social media content. Being self employed often has you wearing a lot of hats and having to learn a lot of things that you do not always have energy or time for. I love being self employed and I love learning, but it can be exhausting and challenging to manage all aspects of your work and stay inspired.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I specialize in Transpersonal/Humanistic Astrology, Tarot, and Numerology. I contribute monthly Horoscopes to thesobercurator.com. A sober lifestyle magazine that is an amazing resource for those of us in recovery.
My goal when working with my clients is to help them discover their own spiritual power within and help to give them perspective on the areas of their life they can evolve in to become the best version of themselves that aligns with their own personal truth and higher wisdom. I feel Astrology is a portal into a dimension of reality that can wake up parts of ourselves that other modalities of healing do not have the capacity to do in the same way. The level of self awareness and understanding that can be obtained through the study of astrology is truly amazing and life changing.
In my work with dogs I specialize in positive reinforcement training methods and my niche is dogs with behavior issues such as leash reactivity, global fear, generalized anxieties, spacial sensitivities, and basic manners. My goal when working with my K9 clients is to help them feel more comfortable in the world and to train their humans how to set them up for success.
In my musical and creative endeavors such as writing and painting, I use art as a way to process what I am working through spiritually and emotionally.
I think I am most proud of staying true to the work I do and choosing a career path that is authentic and unique to what I value in life. I always wanted to help people become better for not just themselves but for the planet and other creatures we share it with.
Working with spiritual development for humans and animals inspires me to grow and be of service in a way that gives me meaning and purpose. It gets me out of my own head and helps me see beyond myself. I enjoy helping people and animals.
Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
Despite having an anxiety disorder I am actually what I would consider a habitual risk taker. I do not like the idea of living a life of regret or wondering “what if I had done this.” I would say I have taken many risks in my life when it comes to moving to new places, taking creative risks, risks in business, love, education.
While not all paths have worked out for the long haul, I do not regret any of the risks I have taken because I can live a life knowing that I learned something from it and I will carry that knowledge with me into the next chapter.
Honestly I regret the risks I didn’t take sooner at this stage right now. Life is too short to wonder “what if.” People who play it safe don’t inspire me, and the years of my life where I played it safe are a blur and I don’t really remember what I was doing or why.
Nobody enjoys a book or movie where the character is just plugging away doing the same thing every day. Why choose to live a life like that?
Also I would like to note that taking a risk does not mean being uneducated, irrational, impulsive or harmful. You can take educated, calculated risks. Risk can be slow, they can be strategized, they can be planned. I think often people associate risk with blowing their lives up or being impulsive. That is one way to do it, but you do not have to do it that way. Everyday we leave our house we are risking something happening.
So take risks, enjoy life, poke things to see what they do, but make sure you stay smart, humble, and don’t harm people in the process.
If you have a partner, family, or kids who will be effected by your risk taking adventures, I think its important to ask yourself if the risk is worth the effect it may have on others.
