Rising Stars: Meet Angela Webber of Virginia

Today we’d like to introduce you to Angela Webber.

Hi Angela, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
From Humble Beginnings to Trusted Problem Solver

My career began with a drive to truly understand the expectations placed upon me and to set myself up for success—no matter the environment. Early on, I learned to excel in fast-paced, people-facing roles, quickly grasping details so I could become the go-to person for both customers and colleagues. My talent for connecting with people and swiftly solving their problems led to rapid advancement: I became the leader of a division in the medical gas industry, overseeing over ten thousand accounts despite having no prior experience in that field.

Life occasionally called me away, especially when family needed support. Even during those pauses, my reputation for integrity and meticulousness remained strong—so much so that a former employer sought me out to clean up financial issues and help their business sell successfully. My efforts not only helped them transition smoothly but also earned me a new, well-compensated role with the purchasing company.

Throughout my journey, my guiding principles have been adaptability, communication, and genuine care for those I serve—whether customers, colleagues, or family. My experiences, both professional and personal, have taught me the power of resilience, the importance of lifting others up, and that true success comes from our willingness to grow, help others succeed, and continually raise the bar for ourselves.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Not at all. My journey has been marked by significant hardship from the very beginning. I’ve faced a tough life since childhood, shaped by challenges that have tested me emotionally, spiritually, and professionally. There were periods filled with trauma, loneliness, and the pain of navigating life’s blows—times when opening up about internal struggles felt like the scariest thing in the world. But those raw and sometimes sad moments laid the foundation for the lessons and resilience I would need to find true success.

Working through and balancing my emotions has been, and continues to be, a lifelong process. There’s a lot to unpack, but I don’t let my difficult history define me. Instead, I’ve chosen to use my story to encourage and teach others, showing them how to find emotional balance and push beyond their own hurdles. If anything, my struggles have given me the purpose and ability to help others discover the hopes and dreams they may be hiding behind their own “Big Red Door.”

Throughout this journey, community has played a crucial role. I know I wouldn’t be where I am today without the support and faith of the Christian community around me. Times of setback and self-doubt were often countered by people who truly believed in me—even when I didn’t believe in myself. Their encouragement and strength became instrumental to my personal and professional growth.

Professionally, the road was equally challenging. In the beginning, I had to adapt to ever-changing work conditions, manage demanding expectations, and sometimes step into roles with little experience but high stakes. Even in leadership roles, I was often the problem solver called in during tough transitions—required to quickly learn, adapt, and make difficult decisions.

All of these struggles—personal and professional—have ultimately driven me to redefine what success means. It’s about raising my own bar, pushing past old limits, and helping others do the same. While the road has rarely been smooth, I’m grateful for every rough patch because it’s shaped who I am: someone excited for the journey ahead, confident in the person I’ve become, and passionate about empowering others to break through their own barriers.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m Angela Webber, also known as Ms. Angie—a nationally recognized customer success strategist and founder of angelawebber.com. My work centers on partnering with corporations and customer-facing teams to elevate every interaction, fostering loyalty and better experiences for both the team and the customer.
I specialize in helping organizations move from a cycle of trauma or routine to true, sustainable success. Through keynote presentations like “Customer Success Starts With You” and hands-on workshops, I challenge and empower audiences to become advocates for even the most challenging customers, while teaching them the vital skill of not letting their own past traumas impact those interactions.
What truly sets me apart is my holistic, people-first approach. My work goes beyond customer service scripts—I address the full spectrum of business success, including guiding staff to understand their unique roles and helping organizations process internal challenges that may be holding them back. I bring not only expertise, but also heart, helping individuals find the vocabulary for love, joy, and peace in their lives and work.
My background is rooted in lived experience. I know the power of balancing personal, professional, and spiritual growth, and I draw on that blend when helping others. My faith, my marriage, and my intentional focus on joy and “fun”—in life, business, and family—give me an authentic perspective that resonates deeply with my clients and audiences.
What I’m most proud of is seeing the transformation in others. Whether it’s helping someone resolve a challenging workplace issue or guiding a team to unprecedented success and cohesion, knowing I’ve helped people move from hiding to thriving is incredibly fulfilling.
People often come to me when they need both practical tools and real hope. They hear my story and my unique approach and realize they’re not alone; they can succeed, no matter where they’re starting from.

Risk taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
My perspective on risk-taking is deeply tied to my life story and my professional philosophy, both of which center around growth, service, and authenticity. I believe that calculated risks are not just necessary for meaningful progress—they are the crossroads at which our true values and our willingness to grow are revealed. Risk, to me, isn’t about recklessness; it’s about purposely stepping into discomfort for the sake of a greater good, whether that good is personal development, business improvement, or community impact.
Throughout my career, I’ve learned that some of the greatest rewards lie on the other side of uncertainty. One major risk I took was stepping into leadership roles in industries where I had little prior experience, trusting that my commitment to communication, learning, and accountability would enable me to succeed. I moved into positions managing thousands of accounts, sometimes during times of transition and uncertainty, and faced the challenge of building trust with new teams and customers—often without a safety net.
Another significant risk was choosing transparency and vulnerability in both my professional and personal life—especially in my writing and keynote speaking. Opening up about my own struggles with trauma and the long journey toward emotional balance meant risking judgment, but I knew that creating space for honest conversation was essential, not only for my healing but also for helping others break through their own barriers. My approach, is about helping others embrace their worth, step into accountability without fear, and find the courage to negotiate for what they truly deserve. That requires risk—not just for me but for every person I work with.
In my view, smart risk involves preparation: gathering the knowledge to back up your decisions, as I describe in my book, “Behind The Big Red Door” and understanding both your worth and the value you bring. It also requires a willingness to confront uncomfortable truths—like the need to address nepotism, push for accountability, or challenge outdated business practices.
What sets me apart is my unwavering belief in the necessity of taking the “road less traveled,” even when it’s difficult. I encourage my clients and audiences to step outside their comfort zones—not recklessly, but intentionally and with self-awareness. I’m most proud of the moments when I, or those I coach, have taken these intentional risks—and seen transformation as a result.
In a fast-paced world where the boundaries of business and life are constantly shifting, risk is not something to shy away from. Instead, it’s something to face with courage, strategy, and a heart rooted in service and growth. That’s the approach that got me to where I am today, and it’s the perspective I strive to instill in others.
