Today we’d like to introduce you to Blake Riesenfeld.
Hi Blake, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I started taking photos when I was 13, which eventually led to doing freelance work for a modeling agency at 15. Since the pandemic, I’ve gravitated toward subjects related to human negligence, specifically discarded objects.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Given my age, it’s been a relatively smooth road.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
1. My work primarily focuses on the interaction between people and the environment, which is most evident in my environmental portraiture and street photography.
2. I’m most proud of my detail-rich work, which shows how carefully I compose my photos.
3. Because I rarely alter what’s in my frame, my work has a natural and candid quality.
What matters most to you?
Transparency; it’s hard to establish a strong connection if this quality is lacking.
