Rising Stars: Meet Catherine Seelie of San Diego

Today we’d like to introduce you to Catherine Seelie.

Hi Catherine, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Honestly, my business was born from my own healing. I didn’t set out to be an entrepreneur – I was a teen mom just trying to survive trauma, break cycles, and raise good humans. But somewhere along the way, healing became more than personal -it became my purpose.

I’ve become a 500 hour certified yoga teacher, with a focus on nervous system, fascia, and somatic healing. I utilize Reiki, and sharing my journey on Instagram after realizing other moms were craving the same kind of support I never had.

Now, I run a multifaceted business that empowers overwhelmed moms – especially trauma survivors – to reconnect with their authentic selves. I teach fascia-focused yoga, offer energy healing, create educational content around motherhood and trauma healing, and share my own raw stories to help other women feel less alone.

I also work with conscious brands I love – creating UGC and blog content that feels aligned with my lifestyle and values. I get to blend my skills as a writer, photographer, and teacher to show other moms that healing isn’t some far-off goal – it’s something we can embody daily, even in the chaos.

At the heart of everything I do – whether it’s a TikTok, a blog post, a digital offer, or a yoga class – it’s all about helping moms remember who they were before the world told them who to be.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Definitely not a smooth road – more like a winding, bumpy, messy one with a few breakdowns along the way. I’ve battled my own symptoms of trauma and abuse, including PTSD and nonepileptic seizures, and some days, just getting out of bed and parenting well has felt like the biggest victory.

Building a business while healing and raising kids is no joke. I didn’t start out with a clear plan – I just kept showing up, sharing my story, and following what felt aligned. I’ve transitioned a lot over the years, trying different things and learning how to run a business while honoring my nervous system.

I’ve had to take breaks, pivot directions, and trust that it’s okay to grow slowly. But I always return to my why: helping other moms break cycles, feel seen, and create a life that actually feels good inside their bodies. That keeps me going, even when it’s hard. Healing isn’t linear, and neither is entrepreneurship.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m a content creator and wellness educator who partners with brands and hotels to create storytelling-driven content that’s rooted in real life, motherhood, and healing. What makes my content stand out is the blend of my wellness background. I’m a trauma-informed, fascia-focused somatic yoga teacher and reiki practitioner – with my lived experience as a mom who’s actively breaking generational cycles. That shows up in every piece of content I make. I don’t just create pretty photos or videos – I tell meaningful stories that help people feel something. I’m most proud of how I’ve turned my story into a platform that helps others, while also creating high-quality content that drives results. Whether I’m partnering with a wellness brand, a family-friendly resort, or a self-care tool I personally love, I always aim to bring heart, honesty, and connection.

What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
Honestly? Resilience. Hands down.
I’ve been through some really tough seasons – personally and professionally – but what’s kept me going is my ability to ride the waves instead of fighting them. I’ve learned to flow with what life throws at me, pivot when something isn’t aligned, and trust that even the setbacks are part of the bigger picture.

That ability to adapt instead of quit has shaped every part of my business. Whether it’s switching directions, starting over, or trying something new, I just keep coming back to my “why” – and that’s what keeps me moving forward.
