Today we’d like to introduce you to Caulin Donaldson.
Hi Caulin, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers.
I was working on a beach cabana/jetski rental spot and noticed how tourists would say they loved our beaches while leaving their trash all over! I began filming myself picking up the trash on the beach and grew a following. As I developed in the environmentalism space, I slowly adopted more eco-friendly practices and applied them to my content.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
Picking up trash every day has posed its own unique challenges. Things like unfavorable weather, environmental disasters, and of course a perpetual stream of pollution. After doing this consistently, I’ve found tricks that make it easier for me to keep going.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m a Florida-based eco-activist focused on ocean conservation, sustainability, and litter prevention. I’m most proud of creating a system in my local beach community to deter plastic beach toys from the Ocean and landfills. I called it the Take a Toy Leave a Toy, Toybox.
Do you have any advice for those just starting out?
I recommend learning the needs of your community and continually discussing the issues at hand. Awareness is contagious, so keep talking.
