Hi Edward, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My story began in my early teens when I made my first trip to Dayton, Ohio, from Puerto Rico in the Late 80s, which was the heart of the Ninja Boom in the West. As a Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do, I was fascinated by Stephen K. Hayes’ first book that chronicled his training odyssey in Japan, searching to become the first Westerner to be accepted by Dr. Massaki Hatsumi, 34th generation Ninja Grandmaster.
I was hooked, and for the past 30-plus years, I’ve been a student of Stephen K Hayes, the Western world’s foremost authority on Ninjutsu. Apart from running my boutique dojo Certified Ninja Club in Carlsbad, I’m also the content creator of the Esoteric Everyday mindfulness app that guides you through unique esoteric practices along the Silk Road.
Can you talk to us about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
As any entrepreneur knows, challenges are part of the journey, but the spirit and sentiment of the Japanese character for the word Ninja is translated as endurance. Endure and perseverance is the true spirit of the ninja.

I’m creative and inquisitive by nature, so while I teach traditional samurai martial arts, my specialty is making esoteric practice accessible to everyday people.
