Today we’d like to introduce you to Erica Annet. Erica and team shared their story with us below:
When Erica and her family saw the Temecula Hilltop property for sale in early 2018, they just knew it would make the perfect little getaway in Temecula Wine Country. The views of the vineyards and valley were stunning and there was a serious need for more accommodations in the area. They decided to gut the interior of the home and customize the landscaping, even adding a private pickleball court and putting green outside! The entire home was customized to meet the needs of couples and families looking for a private getaway in Wine Country. Since opening in the Fall of 2018, Temecula Hilltop has become a favorite getaway for so many people; they even have groups coming for their fourth & fifth stays already! In addition, Erica is a wonderful host who provides top-tier service for those coming to stay and has even earned Superhost many times on Airbnb and other booking platforms.
A couple of years ago, The Annet Family also became part owners in a brand-new winery, Altisima, located directly below Temecula Hilltop. Since then, patrons have enjoyed the proximity to fabulous food, wine and entertainment during their stay at Temecula Hilltop.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
We have had our challenges with new laws and requirements concerning vacation rentals in the area. The laws are ever-changing as more and more vacation rentals come into the area; there’s a balance between keeping the area a local neighborhood and bringing in tourists to experience what Temecula Wine Country has to offer. We stay in close contact with local officials and attend city council meetings regularly to keep up with the changes and act as needed. We also keep in close contact with our neighbors and have never had a complaint. Temecula Hilltop, being located on 9 acres of vineyards, allows for an exclusive resort feel. We’ve learned a lot over the last 6 years and continue to learn and adapt as challenges come up.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
Being a Vacation Rental Host is exciting. Meeting people from all over the world, different cultures and celebrations. It’s wonderful to see people so excited to get together with their friends and families and experience a new area. One of the best parts is having repeat guests. It shows us that we’re doing something right. From before the booking, we’re in contact with our potential guests to answer any questions they may have; we assist them during the booking process if needed, communicate as their stay is approaching, and meet them for an in-person check-in so they are completely familiar with our home and the amenities available and we continue to be available during their stay if needed. After their stay, we thank them and ask for a review and implement any suggestions they may have for us. We absolutely strive for our guests to have the best time and for them to tell all their friends and family and to come back again and again.
How do you define success?
Success to me means referrals and repeat bookings. When I talk to people about what I do, and they say oh yes, I have been wanting to check your place out. I’ve heard such good things – that is the ultimate compliment. We have a group coming up on their fifth stay and it’s so amazing to see groups making Temecula Hilltop their annual vacation spot. Some have made group nicknames for themselves during their stays and put on mini pickleball tournaments. We had a vision, and the vision is becoming a reality, this is true success to me.
