Today we’d like to introduce you to Hillary Gustaveson.
Hi Hillary, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I started photographing when my oldest niece was born in 1998. I decided to open up my business in 2007 and I have spent the last 17 years of my business documenting babies, children & families. I am a boutique photographer which means I help my clients decorate their walls and create heirloom albums of their sessions to look at daily and pass down to their children.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I have had struggles along the way with technology changing and also reminding myself that I am offering a custom service that is often devalued by consumers having affordable technology and many not seeing the benefits to having a professional document your family.

I specialize in documenting babies, children & families. It is my passion to help families see the value in printing their portraits and decorating their walls with their artwork. Having an heirloom album of their portraits to pass down to their children is very important to me. I focus on making sure the kids will have portraits to look back on in the future vs having them lost on a hard drive. I am proud that in the 17 years of running my business I have made close friendships with most of my families.

I am thankful to have a strong support system of my husband and my parents. I have the ability to run my studio and have help whenever I need it.
