Today we’d like to introduce you to Jessi Arnold.
Hi Jessi, so excited to have you on the platform. So, before we get into questions about your work life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today.
I started photography as a hobby 15 years ago, and it snowballed into a passion and business that I love! After a while, I launched Girls Meet Globe with my sister Ali, a video and photography production company. Ali is based in San Diego, and I’m in Louisiana – we travel back and forth, creating content for incredible brands.
We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The truth is we all have struggles and challenges in our careers. A challenge as a small business owner is always juggling multiple hats, trying to do it all alone. Once I started viewing my company as something bigger than myself, it allowed me to scale and grow by bringing on other team members. You will never grow past a certain point as a small business owner if you’re trying to do everything yourself. There are only so many hours in the day, and I was able to accomplish so much more when I learned to bring in other people on my team.
Thanks – so, what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Girls Meet Globe is a video & photo production company. We help brands tell their story through video and photo content. We specifically love working with other women-owned businesses and bringing together female talent and crew members on set when given the chance.
Currently, what I’m the most proud of is our YouTube channel! We launched it right after the pandemic and started interviewing women in our community. It’s been such a fun way to get to know other women and learn about what they are doing! As an ongoing project, we interview women of all ages and backgrounds. It’s such a privilege that so many women take time out of their day to sit with us and let us get a peek behind the curtain of their hard work.
Do you have recommendations for books, apps, blogs, etc.?
I’m a huge podcast babe, so I can multitask. Right now, I’ve been listening to a lot of “Anything goes with Emma Chamberlain”.
