Today we’d like to introduce you to Jocelyn Aaliyah Quiocho.
Hi Jocelyn, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I moved to San Diego in 2016, right after graduating high school in Germany. Not to mention, I was a brand new mommy to one, full-time college student and worker. I found myself living check-to-check and fell into depression and became very insecure with myself. I found myself constantly putting on lashes to help me feel better. It may sound silly, but if I looked good, I felt good and I did great, even on my hardest days. So I wanted to create something to share with my fellow babes to help them feel themselves and uplift themselves to get through their hardest times, especially during this pandemic of 2020.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It hasn’t always been as smooth as I wished. Some days it’s slow, some weeks it’s slow, and then out of nowhere it’s like the word gets around and I get several orders at the same time. It’s a trial and error experience for me. I am learning as I am progressing. I am a full-time college student working part-time as well as trying to manage a business, so sometimes my agenda consists of strictly school and I tend to lack time for my small business, Lash Stash San Diego.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar, what can you tell them about what you do?
I also model from time to time. I rarely have free-time, but when I do, I am booked for photoshoots. It’s my passion. I love when pictures have a thousand words behind it, or even a story behind it. I find inspiration in my shoots, and I try to incorporate my lashes in it as well.
Before we go, is there anything else you can share with us?
If there’s anything else I’d like to share with our readers is to always remember to be kind to one another. Never take things for granted and always to work hard. Never give up, just try harder. Despite how horrendous of a year 2020 has been, I hope we can all find one thing to be thankful for this year.
