Today we’d like to introduce you to Joselle Nicolas.
Hi Joselle, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I’ve always been a foodie and so is my whole family. It really started with my dad; ever since we were kids, he would take me and my siblings to all kinds of restaurants, from hidden hole-in-the-wall gems to high-end spots. Sometimes we’d even drive hours just to try a new place.
That love for food eventually made its way to my Instagram. I used to post food on my personal account, and people would always ask where I was eating. That’s when I decided to create a separate page dedicated just to food. I ended up deleting my personal account and launching Jojos.eatz a little after COVID started when I had more time and wanted to give content creation a real shot. I’ve been running it for about 3–4 years now, and it’s been such a fun journey sharing my love for food with others.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. When I first started, I didn’t have restaurants or businesses reaching out to me, so I had to invest in myself — going out to eat, buying items, and creating content on my own just to build the page and gain trust with my audience.
One of the biggest challenges has been keeping up with the ever-changing trends. What works one month might not work the next, so there’s constant pressure to stay creative, adapt, and still remain true to my style. Standing out in a space that’s growing so quickly can be tough, but I try to focus on what makes my content different and what value I can bring to people who genuinely love food like I do.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I work full-time as a Project Analyst at BAE Systems, where we design, manufacture, and support advanced systems for the military. It’s a fast-paced and rewarding role that challenges me to stay organized, detail-oriented, and collaborative every day.
Outside of work, I’m incredibly proud of earning my master’s degree it was a major personal milestone. I also grew up playing softball and even competed at the collegiate level, which taught me discipline, teamwork, and resilience values I carry with me in everything I do.
What sets me apart is my ability to balance structure and creativity. Whether it’s managing complex projects at work or building my food content on social media, I approach everything with passion, focus, and a drive to keep learning and improving.
We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
Honestly, I do think a bit of good luck played a role in the beginning. It only took one or two reels that gained some traction for my page to start getting noticed. That early exposure helped me build momentum, and from there I was able to grow my platform. Now, I’m fortunate to have a lot of restaurants reaching out and wanting to collaborate.
That said, I also believe that luck alone isn’t enough — I had to stay consistent, keep creating, and continue putting myself out there to turn that opportunity into something lasting.
