Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Our small handmade goods business began with a simple yet meaningful idea: to craft products that not only provide mental benefits through aromatherapy but also contribute to mental health resources. This passion for creating with my hands, paired with a desire to make a positive impact, inspired the journey we’re on today.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Like many small business owners, our journey has been far from smooth. We’ve been entirely bootstrapped, relying solely on our resources without loans or grants. We’ve also faced challenges in getting our products into retail stores—despite our efforts, we’ve been met with rejection. With no marketing budget, we’ve had to depend on word-of-mouth and online sales for our candles.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m a photographer, graphic designer, and video editor with a passion for creative storytelling. Initially, I aspired to become a concert photographer, but I realized how challenging it was to turn that dream into a sustainable career. I then took on an office role as a graphic designer, but the structured environment gradually drained the joy out of designing for me.
Now, I’ve rediscovered my creative spark through studio photography, where I work independently to bring my artistic visions to life.
How do you think about luck?
When Mr. Beast bought $5k worth of candles in partnership with Shopify. It was great to fill a wholesale order at full MSRP. That moment not only allowed me to clear all debts but also marked the beginning of sustained financial stability. Since then, we’ve been operating in the green, and I’m grateful for the timing and impact of Mr. Beast.
