Today we’d like to introduce you to Krista King
Hi Krista, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
When I was 16, I signed with an agency in Paris, and became an International model. For over a decade I got to work with some of the hottest fashion photographers and learn about cultures all over the world. I took a ton of candid photographs, but it wasn’t until I went to college in 2001, that I started taking my photography seriously. In 2007, I became a high school art teacher and by 2009, I was teaching photography and graphic design. I love all types of photography and love taking photographs for people to treasure for a lifetime. People book me to photograph weddings, bat mitzvahs, location shoots and studio portraits. Photography is my love language and I absolutely love being a photographer.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Friends and family booked me to photograph their events and portraits, but I wanted to connect with people outside my sphere. I recently added my info to google and that has helped a lot. I have also been asking my clients to leave reviews. It’s so simple and it makes a difference! Now people I’ve never met before who type in: photography studio near me in their maps app find me because Krista King Photography comes up! It’s fantastic!
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
A lot of people dread getting their pictures taken. I make it fun and capture great images that people treasure. I know light and how to pose. I am also very proud of the way I edit my photographs. They look clean and fresh. I enjoy working with people and I love making beautiful photographs. I am a professional and my prices are very reasonable.
Risk taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
Yes for sure! I have always been a risk-taker. I grew up riding horses and surfing. When I traveled to Paris by myself at sixteen, I didn’t know anything about traveling, but I knew as long as I had my passport and a credit card I would be okay.
