Hi LaSheena, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start, maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers.
Hi, I’m Sheena. I’m a freelance graphic designer and owner of She Prints Customs. My photo booth business story begins in 2021. As most of the world was dealing with Covid in 2021, things were unpredictable with all small businesses. My business, She Prints Customs, was struggling due to all the mandates and lockdowns in our state.Fortunately the struggle wasn’t because people were not shopping, but because people had lots of time on their hands while being home.  People were getting into their creative minds, while needing a side hustle, so the  t-shirt design industry became a go to for most people. Graphic design/t-shirt design industry became overly populated. Due to the high demand of people getting into the business I needed to think outside the box to bring in an extra stream of income. While being bored at home I would watch  a bunch of YouTube videos and advertisements about the photo booth industry. What caught my eye was the 360 Photo Booth. I did tons of research day and night about the 360 booth. I watched countless hours of YouTube videos about where, why, and how to start a photo booth business, and after numerous discussions with friends and family, I decided to go out on a limb and purchase a 360 booth. When I purchased my first booth my husband was skeptical. He thought I was just wasting money and I was only going to use the 360 booth for our kids parties. He didn’t understand or see my vision until later. I had to assure him he needed to trust the process. Again, I watched countless hours of tutorials and did mock-up events in my living room with my kids. October 2021, a friend of mine was having a Vow Renewal for her parents, and with that invite, I asked if it would be ok to bring my 360 booth to do a practice event free of charge. That was the first event I did, and that event is what launched my business off the ground. 

In 2022 I officially came up with the name Snap a Flix Photo Booth and decided to market and advertise the business. 

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The photo booth industry has its ups and downs. It has not been smooth. As with any other businesses, there’s lots of competition in this industry. Some months I’m booked every weekend, and some months I have no bookings at all. One of the major struggles with this business is people not realizing how much work it takes to organize and operate this business, and be a creative eye with events.  With no understanding of the industry, people don’t realize the price margin for a photo booth business until they see everything that we do and how much work goes into each event. 

Thanks – so, what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Right now I am currently focused on building my brand for both businesses. I service all events, but my goal is to service celebrity events, such as award shows, premiers, album release parties etc. I love doing events. I love to see people smile, and enjoy the moment. I take so much pride in my content, and the joy I can bring to people’s lives even if it its just for 3.5 seconds.

  • Ipad Booth with 100 4×6 prints $500 for 3hrs
  • Ipad Booth with unlimited prints $650 for 3hrs
