Today we’d like to introduce you to Lauren Guss.
Hi Lauren , thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
After working as an operating room nurse for six years in New Jersey, I felt a deep calling to dedicate my life to guiding others toward peace and self-discovery through meditation. What began as a temporary move to help our San Diego location quickly became something much more meaningful. I fell in love with the city’s energy, its people, and the open-minded spirit that thrives here. San Diego’s community embraced meditation in such a genuine and curious way, and I began witnessing people transform—finding calm, clarity, and joy through consistent practice. It didn’t take long for me to realize this was where I was meant to be, helping others experience the same freedom and happiness I had found through meditation.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road, but I believe that’s what makes any meaningful journey worth telling. When I first arrived in San Diego, everything took off quickly—our meditation center grew fast, and so many people were eager to join and experience the practice. Then, just two months after I settled in, the world changed overnight with the arrival of COVID-19.
I remember sensing that something big was coming as news spread globally, and when the pandemic hit, we had to act fast. Our team quickly transitioned to online classes, revamped our website, and launched free programs through OnlineMeditationEvents.com to offer peace and comfort during such uncertain times.
Financially, it was challenging. Many people preferred the in-person experience or faced their own financial hardships, which led to cancellations. Thankfully, we received grants and support from the city of San Diego, which helped us keep going.
Even after the pandemic, it’s been an ongoing challenge to help people reconnect socially and return to in-person meditation. But with time, we’re seeing more and more individuals coming back—and once again experiencing the deeper benefits that come from meditating together, in person.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
What truly defines my work is the care and heart I put into everything I do. I’m deeply passionate about helping people experience genuine happiness and peace—not by simply telling them to be calm or positive, but by guiding them through creative and natural ways to become that way from within.
I specialize in creating meditation experiences that connect the mind and heart while fostering a strong sense of community. I believe that when people meditate together, the shared energy amplifies the healing process—helping each person grow while collectively creating a ripple of positivity in the world.
What sets me apart is the combination of empathy, creativity, and humility I bring into my work. I’m always reflecting, learning, and evolving—because I know that being a guide means also being a student of life.
I’m most proud of the community we’ve built through our meditation programs and free events. These gatherings allow anyone, regardless of background or experience, to feel the transformation that daily meditation can bring. Seeing people’s hearts open, their stress fade, and their lives change for the better—that’s what inspires me every single day.
What does success mean to you?
To me, success is about discovering the truth within yourself and living that truth every single day. It’s not measured by titles or achievements, but by how aligned you are with who you truly are.
I believe success also means staying curious—continuing to learn, explore, and try new things, even when there’s uncertainty. So many people let the fear of failure stop them from ever starting, but I’ve learned through my own near-death experiences that life is not promised. Every moment is a precious opportunity to grow, to create, and to live fully.
True success, for me, is having the courage to move beyond fear and to live a life that feels real, meaningful, and true to the heart.
