Today we’d like to introduce you to Leah Craig
Hi Leah, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I’ve always been drawn to art and self-expression, and nails quickly became my favorite way to bring creativity to life. I started out just doing my own nails, but as more friends and family started asking me to do theirs, I realized I had something special. So, I went to beauty school—and from that point on, I never looked back.
Social media played a huge part in my journey. It gave me a space to showcase my work, connect with other artists, and really refine my style. Over time, I figured out exactly what kind of nail art I wanted to offer and built a portfolio that truly represents me.
I’ve always loved doing nails and making videos, so everything just clicked. It all came together naturally, and I have no plans of slowing down anytime soon!
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. When I first started, my nails were wonky. But I kept pushing myself, even when a set took 4 to 5 hours. I attempted designs way beyond my skill level, and with time, I finally started getting it right.
Running my own business came with its own struggles—clients showing up late, cancellations, and the challenge of marketing myself. There were moments I wanted to quit. But whenever I felt overwhelmed, I’d sit down, do my own nails, take photos, and remind myself why I started. That passion kept me going, and I wouldn’t trade the journey for anything.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I specialize in hand-painted nail art—no stickers, no shortcuts, just pure creativity. I love bringing cartoons to life, creating intricate bling designs, and pushing the limits of what’s possible on nails.
What sets me apart is my attention to detail and ability to turn tiny canvases into custom works of art. I want my clients’ nails to tell a story, whether it’s a favorite character or a bold statement piece.
I’m most proud of how far I’ve come—from struggling with basic shapes to creating detailed, freehand masterpieces. And I’m just getting started!
Are there any books, apps, podcasts or blogs that help you do your best?
I’m a big believer in continuous learning, especially when it comes to financial intelligence and business management. Books like Robert Kiyosaki’s Rich Dad Poor Dad and Cashflow Quadrant have really shaped the way I think about money and entrepreneurship. Napoleon Hill’s Think and Grow Rich is another favorite—it’s all about mindset and perseverance, which are so important in any creative business.
I also love listening to business and personal development podcasts, reading blogs on marketing and branding, and using social media to stay inspired by other artists. Staying educated on both the creative and business sides of my work helps me keep growing and evolving.
