Rising Stars: Meet Mansi Parikh of Scripps Ranch, San Diego

Today we’d like to introduce you to Mansi Parikh.

Hi Mansi, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?

I was blessed with not one but two babies at once. Apparently twins run in my family… my husband at the time was in training and I had little to no support in raising my two babies. I’ve been known to have a very nurturing personality and loved being around babies and children so when I had two of my own, I thought this will be a piece of cake for me. I’ve got this… NOT! I started to observe myself adopting some of my parents ways when raising me. I was unconsciously doing and saying things I promised I would do differently. Three years into raising my twins, I realized no one was coming to save me, there was no one to blame for my parenting experience and it was a matter of turning inward. This was the start of my journey into Conscious Parenting; it started with learning more about mental health and inner healing. It was when I had my third child during the pandemic that I really dove deep and started to shift my parenting perspective and learn key tools to parenting in a more conscious and impactful way. I was now approaching my parenting pains with playfulness and turning them into powerful moments with my kids. Parenting didn’t feel painful anymore, it felt purposeful! In 2022 I completed my Conscious Parenting Certification with Dr. Shefali Tsbary (NY Times Best Selling Author & Oprah’s Parenting Expert). Everything I had been practicing was majorly upgraded and parenting now became purposeful and pleasurable. Before I even completed my coursework, I already had my first client reach out and saw this as a sign to hit the ground running. Since then, I have worked with hundreds of clients, built a social media following of thousands, educated through several podcast interviews, conducted numerous parenting workshops and teacher trainings, as well as recently been interviewed on Fox 5 News San Diego. Having walked down this path personally and professionally is the greatest privilege of my life. To get to walk alongside fellow parents who want to uplevel their parenting is my calling.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Starting a small business hasn’t been a smooth road by any means, but one with so much growth and learning. Each bump along the way has taught me important lessons about my business, my purpose, and myself. I’d say balancing being a full-time Mom to my three kids while trying to build and grow my business has been the greatest challenge of all. I want to give my children my all, but being a Parenting Coach is my calling and very important to me. I often say we are the most over-worked and under-nurtured generation of parents and I am no stranger to that. Continuously learning how to create a healthy work life balance has been something so valuable for me and has become an integral part of my coaching practice as I work with parents of all career backgrounds. Another struggle I have experienced is the stigma that comes with working in the mental health space. I’m grateful to see a shift and find people become more open minded to coaching/therapy as important tools to their personal and parental development.

Thanks – so what else should we know and what sets you apart?
I am a Cert. Conscious Parenting Coach. I help parents make sense of their parenting struggles so that they can parent with the utmost clarity and confidence, turning parenting struggles into parenting successes. I specialize in working with Mothers of children between the ages of 3-16 years. I have a special interest in working with immigrant families (1st or 2nd generation). From fostering healthy parent child communication and sibling conflict to healing inner child wounds and breaking generational patterns and everything in between, I take a 360 approach and gently walk parents towards a healthier relationship with their child. What sets me apart is my approach in parenting, a beautiful blend between Eastern Philosophy and Western Psychology. Clients walk away with an in depth understanding of themselves and their children in a way that they can be their own coach in difficult parenting situations. I can’t pick between my group workshops or my individual client successes. I’m proud to see my groups bond and stay connected as they traverse parenting difficulties together. I love offering this sense of community during a time we need it most. I am also proud of somehow becoming a household name in so many families’ homes. Clients report they say, “Remember… Coaching & Compassion” or “What would Mansi tell us in this situation?” It truly feels like an honor to have this influence over families; one I do not take lightly. What sets me apart from others is my authenticity and the vulnerability I share from my own upbringing. Being raised by immigrant parents was not easy and painful in many ways. More than encouraging my clients to learn more, I am often encouraging them to unlearn patterns from their past to allow for a blank slate as their foster a healthy relationship with their own children. I also offer great value in openly sharing my own parenting struggles and how I use my coaching wisdom to work through real time situations with myself and my own children. Sharing in front of almost 30k Instagram followers has not always been easy but rewarding as Mothers write back the relatability they feel and motivation to heal, to learn and to take different approaches.

Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
Parenting is an inside job. It’s often more about the parent than the child. When what is going on within the parent is addressed the child automatically falls into place and compliance and connection are natural byproducts, not a forced outcome.
