Today we’d like to introduce you to Maria Von Losch.
Hi Maria, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
It started with an idea of reselling clothes, opening up my own vintage resale store at age 22 while also working in PR/Media industry. As technology progressed and I evolved, I pivoted a few times in my entrepreneurial career.
I’ve had several ‘big’ moments but the one that stands out the most is when I went through an unexpected divorce at 41, went broke from it, moved in with my mom to start my life all over again … announced that I was going to Shop My Closet for 365 Days in a row and blog about it everyday with outfit of the day photo and journal entry of what was going on with me.
Today I’m embracing all the beautiful skills and experience I’ve acquired and giving back to other female entrepreneurs through mentoring, coaching and my programs.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I’m laughing thinking about this. It’s never a ‘smooth road’ being an entrepreneur. It’s not a linear path. Because it’s not, you need to be flexible, trust in yourself, have grit and perseverance. The main struggle I had and still come across today it doubt and imposter syndrome. This is pretty common with entrepreneurs. In order to move past challenges and struggles, I suggest Mindset practices. This has been the most helpful in getting me back into alignment.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
The one word that is used to describe ‘what I’m known for’ from clients, friends, peers and family is Trailblazer. I’m at a stage in my life and business where I guide ambitious females to their next empowered pivot and rebrand. I lead them to activate their deepest desires by reconnecting with who they are and align with their personal brand power. This happens through either my trainings, masterminds and 1:1 mentoring.
What sets me apart from other mentors and leaders in the coaching space is my unique personal brand mix of embodying your personal style as part of your brand essence, creating content that converts, storytelling, manifesting and marketing. I throw all these in a blender and voila, you get ‘Stylishly Pragmatic with a side of Woo’.
What were you like growing up?
Ooohhh this is a unexpected and juicy question. Me likey. I was always drawing, reading, dreaming and wanting to grow up before my time. Nerdy, goofy, too smart for my age. Easily bored, needed to be challenged. I would gather all our neighborhood friends and ‘play school’ where I was the teacher. To them that wasn’t a fun thing because helloooo … we already had to go to school Mon-Fri. I was the ring-leader and instigator for most things.
Also, I had this affinity for the arts and fashion. Loved dressing up and wearing jewelry. I used to watch my mom get ready for either the day or work. She went full glam and topped it off with her signature scent. I can remember creating head-to-toe looks for my Barbies and decorating my Barbie dream homes as if I were staging a multi million dollar estate.
