Rising Stars: Meet Merrie of Silver and Sage Weddings

Today we’d like to introduce you to Merrie Armon.

Hi Merrie, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Silver and Sage Weddings began from a place of true passion. I’ve always been someone who thrives on creating meaningful, beautiful experiences for others, and that naturally led me into the world of weddings. After planning my own wedding and helping a few close friends with theirs, I realized how much I loved every part of the process—especially seeing all the pieces come together on the big day.

What started as a creative outlet quickly evolved into a full-time business. I dove into the industry, learning everything I could, building vendor relationships, and growing a reputation for being detail-oriented, calm under pressure, and fully invested in each couple’s vision.

Over the years, Silver and Sage Weddings has grown tremendously. We’ve had the honor of planning and coordinating weddings of all sizes, from intimate elopements to large-scale celebrations. Most recently, we’ve added a new branch in Springfield, Missouri, which has allowed us to expand our reach while continuing to serve destination clients and our Southern California couples.

I’m especially proud of my incredible team of 7 talented Coordinators. Each one brings their own strengths, creativity, and heart to the table, and I genuinely love collaborating with them. They’re a huge part of what makes Silver and Sage such a trusted and joyful presence on a couple’s wedding day.

Through it all, the heart of what we do remains the same: creating seamless, joy-filled wedding experiences and making sure our couples feel truly supported every step of the way.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Like most meaningful journeys, it hasn’t always been a smooth road—but every challenge has shaped Silver and Sage Weddings into what it is today.

When I first started, I wore all the hats—planner, marketer, bookkeeper, social media manager—you name it. Learning to balance the creative side of the business with the operational demands was definitely a learning curve. There were also seasons where the work felt nonstop, especially as we built momentum and took on more clients.

One of the biggest challenges came during the COVID-19 pandemic. Navigating postponements, vendor changes, and the emotional toll it took on couples was incredibly difficult. It really tested our resilience and adaptability, but it also deepened our commitment to supporting our clients with grace and empathy.

Expanding the team was another big step. It took time to find people who shared the same heart, work ethic, and attention to detail. But now, I can confidently say we have an amazing group of Coordinators, and I wouldn’t trade them for anything.

Each struggle has taught me something valuable—about boundaries, growth, and the importance of leaning into both the business side and the human side of wedding planning. And through it all, the joy of seeing our couples happy and stress-free on their big day has made every bump in the road worth it.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
At Silver and Sage Weddings, we specialize in wedding coordination and event management that’s not only seamless and organized, but also deeply creative and personalized. From vendor communication and timeline planning to detailed day-of execution, we handle the logistics so our couples can focus on what matters most—celebrating their love and being fully present with their people.

We’re known for being calm under pressure, meticulous with details, and incredibly supportive throughout the planning process. But beyond that, we bring a creative eye to everything we do. Whether it’s designing a ceremony flow that feels intimate and unique, helping style the reception space to reflect the couple’s aesthetic, or offering thoughtful touches that elevate the guest experience, we approach each wedding with fresh perspective and intention.

What sets us apart is our ability to combine structure with artistry. We don’t believe in cookie-cutter weddings—every couple’s story is different, and we make sure their wedding reflects that. Our planning process is collaborative and creative, with plenty of space to explore ideas and bring even the smallest details to life in a meaningful way.

What I’m most proud of is the incredible team I’ve built. We now have 7 talented Coordinators who each bring their own strengths, style, and creativity to our events. Watching them lead with heart, imagination, and professionalism has been one of the most fulfilling parts of my journey.

At our core, Silver and Sage believes weddings should feel intentional, joyful, beautifully curated—and effortlessly executed. That’s what we’re here to deliver, every single time.

How do you define success?
For me, success is defined by the experience we create for our couples—not just on their wedding day, but throughout the entire planning journey. If they feel seen, supported, and genuinely cared for from our first conversation to the final send-off, that’s success.

It’s not just about flawless timelines or perfect design details (though we aim for those too!). It’s about knowing that we’ve taken stress off their shoulders, brought their vision to life, and created a space where they can be fully present and emotionally connected to the moment.

I also see success in the growth and joy of my team. Watching my Coordinators step into leadership roles, develop their own creative voices, and build lasting relationships with our clients—that’s incredibly rewarding.

And finally, success is longevity. It’s being trusted in this industry, having couples refer us to their friends and family, and knowing we’ve built a business rooted in integrity, heart, and genuine service. If we can keep showing up with passion, purpose, and professionalism—that’s the kind of success I’m proud to claim.
