Today we’d like to introduce you to Nicole Noar.
Hi Nicole, so excited to have you on the platform. So, before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I am a registered nurse certified in inpatient obstetrics and a lactation consultant. Shortly after having my son Deklan, I brought him with me to the nail salon. He was asleep in his car seat and covered with a basic car seat cover. After realizing how strong the fumes were I had instant mom guilt. I realized the cover I was using gave me a false sense of protection. It wasn’t actually doing anything. I searched the web shopping for a cover that would keep him protected in his car seat. I could not believe there was nothing on the market. As a nurse, my first thought was to use medical mask material. It is a trusted material that works and is breathable. I wanted to design a cover that was soft, stretchy, and breathable. I wanted something that could be used as a car seat cover and nursing cover. The Snuggle Shield’s patent-pending design has a pocket on the front of the all-in-one cover for our custom medical-grade filters. The filters are 4 layers of level 3 surgical mask material tested for breathability and bacterial filtration efficiency (BFE 99.8%). We use tortoise buttons to give the cover a custom fit on any infant car seat and a unique high-end look that stands out amongst other covers. Shortly after designing the Snuggle Shield and applying for our patent the world was struck with Covid which made this cover even more important for newborn safety and protection. The Snuggle Shield protects against germs, viruses, bacteria, pollen, allergens, pet dander, pollution, smog, and smoke. The Snuggle Shield is especially important for pediatric appointments, leaving the hospital, travel, crowded places, and especially our immunocompromised newborns. We currently have several local physicians using the Snuggle Shield for their own babies, not only do they give it a five-star rating they highly recommend it.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I am a busy mom with 2 boys a husband and a full-time nursing job trying to start a business and build a brand. The struggle is real. I believe in this product so much and I spend as much time as I can working to get the Snuggle Shield out there through expos, social media, and pop-up shops at local businesses (Nordstrom and Pottery Barn Kids). It’s not just about building a successful company and brand. This product is so important for infant safety and protection, I want to get it into the hands of parents to keep their babies protected especially during the pandemic.

Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
I am extremely motivated and passionate. Everything I do is for my family. I designed this product for my own babies. I am so passionate about giving parents peace of mind with the safety and protection the Snuggle Shield provides newborn babies. There is nothing I love more and I will do whatever it takes to get this product out there.
