Rising Stars: Meet Noah Leyton of San Diego

Today we’d like to introduce you to Noah Leyton.

Hi Noah, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I started making music in freshman of high school through an elective course, uploading any finished songs onto Soundcloud at the time. they were good but I knew I could improve more. When I graduated high school in 2021, I got accepted into the ICON Collective College of Music for the 2022 school year. ICON is a 1 year program focusing on music production, I learned how to mix, master, synthesize my own sounds and more. The quality of my music greatly improved the more I progressed each month.

During this time I began to release songs onto streaming services such as Spotify and Apple Music under my current artist name “Lvmi”. I began releasing in March of 2022 with my first song being “Secrets”. Throughout the next two years I would release songs that I finished, but most of them were instrumentals or utilized vocal samples. I would release my first full lyrical song in August of 2023, titled “All For You” featuring LA based Julie Campus. In 2024 I would focus on finishing music for my first EP. The first single, “Palaces”, released in April 2024 followed by a second single “By My Side” releasing in July featuring Oceanside’s Issabela. The EP, titled “By My Side”, would be officially released November, seeing more lyrical songs (After Dark, Think About You & By My Side) while also improving my production (Starfall). I plan on continuing to release music for 2025, I have a few songs I want to upload but my main focus is finishing my first album which will hopefully begin releasing in the next year or two.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
There’s definitely a struggle to writing music, I tend to overthink a lot of the process, from sound design, to structure to lyrics to even just minor mixing details. As artists, we’re very critical of our work and want something to be perfect but it’s also hard to know when to stop working on a song. Especially if it’s one that you’re proud of. I am also working full time so I’m not able to write music as much as I like. Life can also get in the way, I’ve had a few sicknesses this year that has set me back along with other things. It can be very easy to let the production process fall behind as I catch up with what I need to do first.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
As mentioned earlier, I write and produce music under my alias “Lvmi”. I tend to write to more of an atmospheric, dreamy vibe while having very percussive groove in the mix. Lyrically I try to write more personally, having some sort of emotion or memory be the driving force of my lyrics. Some of my favorite songs I’ve finished are “All For You, Starfall, After Dark and By My Side”. What sets me apart is definitely the style, I focus more on atmosphere, trying to encapsulate you into the world I’m building with the song. I also try to use unique sounds not very common in most other songs, finding sounds and instruments that help expand the idea but feel like it’s apart of the world i’m building.

What does success mean to you?
I think success for me would be able to have my goals and dreams come true. Being able to be a full time artist, performing, writing more music and just enjoying life are the goals of this career. While I still have a ways to go, I know thats where this project will end up, it’s only a matter of time.
