Today we’d like to introduce you to Pam Zamora
Hi Pam, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I was born in Peru and raised in California. I studied classical music as a kid, but left it all behind to go to college and study media arts. After ten years of not being active in music, I decided to sing in open mics and open jams. I really like hitting the stage again, so I joined a tribute band. My band is a fem-fronted Deftones tribute band, called Engine’s Drone, which was a real game changer. We played several shows in different parts of Southern California and really got to know the scene. I decided to create my own music event production company. I was able to put shows together with other local bands, and it really took off.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Being in a tribute has had its ups and downs. It also has been very challenging putting events together, organizing all the bands, and prompting.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I specialize in creating events and bringing people together. I really love that I was able to perform with a band again and that I no longer fear the stage.
How do you define success?
I would say success is waking up in the morning and feeling good about what you do.
