
Today we’d like to introduce you to Pedro Candiota.
Hi Pedro, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Originally from brazil, the town of Rio de Janeiro. I speak five languages, I have a marketing degree from brazil, a culinary art degree in the USA, and currently doing computer science online. My mom raised me, who had to work hard to put food on the table, and she was the best teacher who helped shape my values. I came to the USA in my 19s. I lived in Florida, Hawaii, New York, and California Working with some of the best people in the industry and adding knowledge and experience to my belt. I worked with amazing people in NY like Daniel Boulud, Jean Christophe Le Picart, Alex Lee, Bruno Bertran, and many others that gave me the best knowledge and understanding of what is excellence and a sense of urgency. Father of two blessed kids that born in sunny San Diego allowed me to create a base for my business in this beautiful city that I call home.
In San Diego for the past 15 years, I was able to work as a Chef for Nordstrom when I needed time for my kids, working at the corporate level for only eight hours a day. I also worked for some of the best hotels and Country Clubs, such as The Grand Del Mar, Pendry, and The Santa Luz Club. At those places, I worked with very different managers and chefs, which influenced my knowledge and passion for service and experience in this world of culinary arts.
I’m a Gaian Chef that cooks elements from Gaia for us, the Gaian People. My mission is to make people happy and create excellent food. Last year, I lost a couple of family members in Brazil during the pandemic, and I decided to go solo and work as a Personal Chef to have more time for my kids and spend less time in the kitchen. I opened Gaian Chefs, a Personal Chef Sunny San Diego licensed company that creates lasting memories for those that like to celebrate life and eat in the comfort of their home with a restaurant experience. I met the best people in this segment, and I learned how to put my skills to work for my personal benefit with a hint of gratitude.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
In this life, I learn not to take anything for granted and gratitude is everything we need. Knowing that very young gave me the ability to bounce back from any obstacles and challenges that life gave me to learn to be me. Positive thinking is everything in this dimension that can change, shape, and manifest our future.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
What sets me apart from the others is my charisma, integrity with people, and personality that is in a constant mode to help and create a positive environment with no effort because it comes from my core, my natural state of mind. I meditate three times a day, and my thinking is that we are one. Starting with this principle, I want the best for my clients and everyone surrounding me as I want for myself.
