Today we’d like to introduce you to Rolando Gonzalez
Hi Rolando, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Life is a mystical journey, open to those willing to embrace it. My path has been marked by profound synchronicities that resonate deeply with my spirit and character, affirming to me that my journey in acting is meant to be.
Before stepping into acting, I spent time on the front lines of an addiction helpline, answering calls from individuals at their lowest points, seeking change. Guided by a passion for helping others—a drive rooted in personal experiences shaped by family members involved in gangs and substance abuse—I found purpose in assisting many on their journey to recovery.
Unexpectedly, my transition into acting began with a pivotal moment in my former job’s office, where I was asked to read lines. Unbeknownst to me, a voice over a speakerphone said, “That’s our guy!” Soon after, I found myself filming a national commercial urging those struggling with addiction to reach out for help. Sharing this journey on social media connected me with an old high school acquaintance who had become a successful actor. Meeting him again at a friend’s weekly gathering sparked an instant connection, evolving into a deep friendship that feels like family.
Previously resigned to a career in a cubicle, my life took a transformative turn. They say when the student is ready, the teacher will appear. This friend not only spoke a language of belief and encouragement that resonated deeply with me but also empowered me to take a chance on myself. From getting headshots to auditioning and eventually experiencing the thrill of working as a background actor, and finally getting lines, I was hooked.
Reflecting on my childhood dreams of acting, I realized they stemmed from a deeper longing for my father’s approval—a connection forged through our shared love of television and movies. Watching films about ordinary people transforming into the best version of themselves really resonated with me, echoing my own journey of self-discovery and transformation.
Now, as I continue to navigate this extraordinary journey as an actor, I am reminded that sometimes our deepest desires and most profound transformations begin with the courage to believe in ourselves and take that first leap of faith.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The road has not been smooth and is still sometimes quite rocky. I wholeheartedly feel that the obstacles and challenges we face end up being opportunities for growth. Tony Robbins says “your problem is your gift”, see when we experience seemingly negative things it gives us experience which we can then use to provide value for the next person that comes across the same challenge or obstacle. I experienced financial struggles, relationship struggles, and struggles with self esteem and belief in myself. These struggles revealed so much about myself that now I can practice self reflection on a much deeper level. I went through quite a bit of healing and facing fears, and being able to trust has brought me to where I am today. We are always loved and supported by forces beyond the physical realm. Bob Marley says “don’t worry about a thing, cuz every little thing is gonna be alright” and that right there is what I choose to live by. Everything is always working for my highest good, and one day i’m going to pass and every little thing is gonna be alright.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
First and foremost I am fulfilling my dream being a working actor. It has been an incredible journey and I have been in projects that have been on Netflix, Hulu, Amazon, and Tubi. I would say I am most known for my work on Dhar Mann, it is a huge web series on youtube and kids and their parents alike are always excited when they talk about seeing me in different episodes. I am most proud of the resilience I have had during this process, there have been several setbacks and disappointments but I have continued to push forward. What sets me apart I believe is my heart. I really love connecting with people in a good way and being an example of an ordinary guy that went for it despite the odds stacked against me.
I also recently started my own digital marketing business. This program provides a step by step blueprint in a beginner friendly way showing how anyone can learn how to start making passive income online. It provides a proven opt in page, website, and an automated email response system to give the new business owner the best chance at success. With ongoing training, guidance, and community the new business owner is completely supported and only have to focus on learning and creating. I am completely obsessed with this program and the value it offers. Even in a down economy people are thriving because of the skills they are being equipped with.
Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
Growing up amidst challenging circumstances with older brothers in and out of prison, I often felt like an only child navigating my own path. As a kid, I immersed myself in movies where underdogs triumphed over adversity and found themselves accepted and admired. I yearned to be seen as “cool,” so I began adopting personas that weren’t authentically mine, hoping to win approval from others.
It wasn’t until I took a hard look at myself that I realized fear had been guiding much of my life. I had been living as a “wannabe,” trying on different masks to fit in or avoid rejection. Yet, amid this struggle, my creative spirit shone brightly. I gravitated toward music, literature, and film, finding solace and inspiration in artistic expression rather than sports.
Despite my quest for acceptance, my heart remained pure, and my intentions toward others were genuine. Deep down, I always believed I was destined for something greater. My journey was marked by seeking validation and yearning to be understood and loved. Every moment, every experience, whether joyful or challenging, has shaped me into the person I am today.
I cherish my childhood, for it laid the foundation for my resilience and determination. While I continue to grow and evolve, I am grateful for how far I’ve come. Each step has brought me closer to embracing my true self and living authentically, both as a person and as an actor pursuing my dreams.
