Rising Stars: Meet Rubel Medini of Circus Vargas

Today we’d like to introduce you to Rubel Medini.

Hi Rubel, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I started my career very young, at the age of 7 I started training until the age of 14, where I made my stage debut. Unfortunately, when I was 14 my mother passed away, so from that moment on, I started working much harder to give her all my greatest satisfactions. I have worked all over the world, including Germany, France, England, Spain, Belgium, Greece, the United States, and many others. Over time came the satisfaction between working with the cirque du soleil right in the United States in 2019, where I could have the honor of performing in the famous Dolby Theatre in Hollywood!!! In 2020/2021, other very important goals also arrived, I managed to file 3 Guinness World Records with my profession, and I am currently in the Book of Guinness world record 2023! This job is done more out of passion because it is not a very easy job, but if you put love and passion into it, you can have great emotions.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
As you know, my act is very difficult, it is dangerous, and everything is based on balance, so if a little concentration is missing you can make dangerous falls. In the past, I have had several injuries, I broke both feet, I broke a vertebra, and fractured my left wrist… unfortunately, these are difficult times from which it is very difficult to get out, but I never gave up and continued to do what I loved. I defeated fear, and I came back up there

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’m an international Artist. I’m working in circus and cabarets all over the world.

I’m expert in balance; my act consist in balancing different objects like tubes or Stacks and also a basketball.

It’s risky, but it’s fun at the same time.

I’m really proud of everything about my act because I had a few bad moments in my life, and I was able to pass through it cause my act.

I am considered one of the best and most talented balancers in the world, and this means a lot to me

What matters most to you? Why?
What I care about the most is that the audience has fun watching me; I don’t just want them to see the danger for this during my performance. I try more than anything else to entertain them and maybe not to show them the danger, it’s maybe pretend to be very much in control so that they can relax a little more. I put all my passion behind it all this so there is no greater satisfaction than having the audience that adores you and support you
