Today we’d like to introduce you to Sasha Socko
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
In November 2023, my friend (today my business partner) and I came up with an idea that combined our different areas of expertise. My friend had been working with crystals for a long time, decorating paintings and home decor, while I was involved in the car rental business. One day, we had an unusual idea: to cover a car with crystals and then rent it out.
We started developing this concept, and soon we found clients who wanted to decorate their own cars with crystals . Over time, we realized that we could bring this rhinestone culture to people, showing them that it’s not just beautiful but also something fresh and innovative.
From there, we expanded our offerings. We began creating signs for businesses, restaurants, and beauty salons. We transformed their old signs by embellishing them with rhinestones or even designed new ones.
We also developed a clothing line where we incorporate crystals into various designs. Essentially, anything you can imagine in the world can be adorned with crystals.
One unique request came from a father who asked if we could decorate his daughter’s bedroom ceiling with crystals . Of course, we said yes! We’ll soon begin this project, and people will get to see a sparkling rhinestone ceiling.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Of course, we faced significant challenges along the way. There’s a key difference between running a business in an established market—where you’re working with a product that people already understand—and creating something entirely new. In an existing market, you simply aim to be better than your competitors.
But when you have no competitors, and you’re introducing something completely novel, you have to convince people to love it and understand why they need it. That’s a much harder task.
This is the challenge we face every day. We work tirelessly to present our vision and share the culture of rhinestones, showing people how we see and value this art form.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
What do we do? To put it simply and concisely: anything that exists in this world, anything you can touch, we can transform with crystals and give it a completely new look.
What are we proud of? We’ve adorned costumes for renowned boxers with rhinestones. Boxers have even driven to their fights in our crystal-covered cars. We had the honor of working with Abby Carter, the 2024 winner of American Idol.
We also participated in Comic-Con in San Diego and we’ve helped small businesses stand out by embellishing their branding and signage with rhinestones, attracting more customers and elevating their image. And that’s just a small part of what we’ve achieved.
We’d love to hear about how you think about risk taking?
Risks are an integral part of any business. Yes, we face risks almost every day.
For example, a client might bring us an old but expensive Chanel bag that has already lost its appeal, and we’re tasked with transforming it using crystals. In such cases, we don’t always know how the adhesive will behave or how well it will hold over time.
Another example is when you hire someone for your team, like a social media manager, and invest in their work. You might realize later that they don’t share the same passion for your idea as you do.
These are just some of the challenges we navigate as part of our journey.
