Rising Stars: Meet Stevy Montgomery of San Diego

Today we’d like to introduce you to Stevy Montgomery

Hi Stevy, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
My name is Stevy! I’m an macro based nutrition coach and online personal trainer who is passionate about helping women feel confident in their bodies, food choices and in the gym space! I work with people to build a better relationship with food, learn to love lifting weights and to help them reach their fat-loss goals in a healthy sustainable way!

I was born and raised in Spokane, WA, but currently live in San Diego, CA. I moved to SD to study at San Diego State University where I graduated with my Bachelors of Science in Foods and Nutrition. I opted out of the dietetics program but grateful my journey has led me to work at many gyms both in person and online and also lead me to build my own online business helping hundreds of people all of the United States and Canada.

After 7 years of coaching, 1 degree, NASM personal training certification and behavioral specialist cert, PPSC (Pain Performance Specialist Cert) and hundreds of client transformations later, I’ve created Results In 90 to teach you how to properly fuel your body, create a scheduled fitness routine for a balanced, guilt-free, fat-loss journey. I am also working on becoming an MNU Certified Licensed Nutritionist with Mac-Universal. I currently work for an amazing company called WarriorBabe as a coach doing what I love and am affiliated with an awesome supplement company, 1st Phorm.

My goal is to continue to help teach people about simplifying nutrition/fitness and how to make healthy living an EASY part of their life. To take the “stress” out of it and FINALLY feel and see results, without feeling restricted. Break free of fad diets and myths around women lifting weights and integrate this into a lifestyle, not a quick fix.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I have endured many struggles along the way and it definitely has not been a smooth road. From moving across the country twice to getting out of an abusive , toxic relationship and learning to believe and trust myself again and heal while maintaining a business and furthering my education has been tricky. But I wouldn’t change any of it, it is a part of my testimony and my story. I am grateful for the hurdles I have experienced, it has shaped the woman I am today and allowed me to learn and grow in ways i wouldn’t have otherwise.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am passionate about helping people women feel confident in the gym space and around food. I feel the fitness industry pushes a lot of quick fixes, photo shop and unrealistic body goals. A lot of women want to be “toned” and “fit” but still fear lifting weights and eating more food. Being a voice for women in a male dominated space is important. Time are shifting and more women are in the weight rooms and I LOVE it! Strong is sexy! What sets me apart from other trainers is my background and knowledge in nutrition. Many trainers have certifications in training but not the education and degree backing around nutrition. Anyone can give someone macros, but having the education backing is important!

We love surprises, fun facts and unexpected stories. Is there something you can share that might surprise us?
I won $100,000 on an adventure reality show on TNT when I was 23 years old in Australia. This definitely helped peak my interest in getting into personal training and nutrition when I was training for the show. I realized the important role nutrition played while trying to lean out and lose fat. Grateful for this experience which propelled me into this field
