Today we’d like to introduce you to Susan Esco.
Hi Susan, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My story started in 2020 when the World shut down. I was feeling sad for Humanity and I decided to take a bike ride through Riverfront Park in downtown Spokane, Washington. I ran into a Bubbler named Abraham there. He was playing 80s music and doing large wand bubbling by the river.. I sat on a large rock nearby watching as groups of people would come by and vibe with the bubbles. No matter their race, age or socioeconomic status they all connected over the magic of the bubbles, communicating with each other, expressing their wonder and excitement. Abraham invited me to bubble with him. I loved it! It was an automatic vibe raiser, it lit my Spirit up, grounding me in the present moment and erasing all my worries of the future. I told him I was a model and how I would love to do a photo shoot surrounded by bubbles. He said he was leaving the next day so I passed on my card and went on my way filled with wonderment.
That night, serendipitously, my photographer friend, Tinarie Eans, texted me after six months of no contact due to Covid, and invited me to do a sunrise photo shoot in the Llilac Gardens the very next morning. I excitedly told her about Abraham, but, sadly, I didn’t have his contact information. Surprisingly, Abraham reached out at midnight! I asked him if he was willing to meet me in six hours in the gardens for a photo shoot and he was! We captured so many magical pictures, including the one of me standing behind and being illuminated by a life-sized heart shaped bubble. And another that looked like an interdimensional vortex! At the end of the photo shoot as I was saying my goodbyes to Abraham, he disappeared back to his car. He came back and gifted me my first bubble wand and a large bucket of suds!
It’s been over four years now that I have bubbled as a hobby. I travel to beaches and parks and bring extra wands and suds to share with people who happen to be in the area. Haranguing people off of the bike path at the beach and encouraging others to play with me at the park. We all know kids love bubbles, but I’m truly here for the grown-ups. My intention is to have adults experience pure bliss and connection with others in the present moment and to reconnect with their inner child to release their worries- if only for a short time. I realized that my Dharma is to spread JOY. Bubbling is the perfect way to live out that purpose. My goal is to “Raise the Vibe of Humanity – One Bubble at a Time.”
I moved closer to Los Angeles two years ago, in order to pursue my modeling and acting career as a Proaging Silver Hair Model. It was then that the Universe presented me with yet another synchronous moment when I opened up my Casting Networks page and saw a casting call for a Large Wand Bubbbler for a major athletic brand commercial. I could get PAID to spread JOY to Humanity!?! I auditioned for the gig, but didn’t get it. That was the day I branded myself “THE HOLLYWOOD BUBBLER” and set my intention to bring the magic of bubbles to the entertainment industry targeting commercials, feature films, music videos and large events. That way the magic of the bubbles could be seen in movie theaters, living rooms and on electronic devices worldwide. I could touch the lives and raise the Vibe of so many more people at a time!
Since then anytime I submit for anything in the industry, I always pitch my bubbling services. So far I’ve been featured in three different music videos, most notably All the Highs by San Holo and most recently Tekken by the Bombay Bicycle Club, where they featured Chaka Khan. Being an 80’s music fan, I was so excited to meet her and demonstrate the magic of the bubbles! I’ve also tapped into entertaining the folks and the staff at retirement centers and have integrated using bubbles during my speech therapy sessions with children and adults with autism. I also close out most of my red carpet hosting interviews with a splash of Bubble Joy! It’s fun to capture the reactions of the celebrities when they are surrounded by surprise bubbles! Currently, I have expanded my services to include IMMERSIVE BUBBLING EVENTS where the people get to be the ones bubbling and capture high vibe bubbling photos and videosI
I have yet to spread the word about my services to the special effects departments at the major studios, but I see that coming down the pike very quickly! I was even invited to audition for America’s Got Talent this year, Bubbles truly do make everything better – if only for the moment. I like to pass out small sized bubbles that I refer to as “Pocket Joy” so when people are feeling down, they can take the bubbles out of their pocket or purse and raise their vibe immediately. And if you ever see me out and about I always have my bubble gun on my hip, ready to spread Joy to Humanity wherever I go! So, the million dollar question is when’s the last time you bubbled? And – what are you waiting for? STAY BUBBLY!
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The only struggle I have had, thus far, is figuring out who to market to at the large studios. I did volunteer to bubble a few times during the SAG-AFTRA and Writers strike as a means to market and to inspire creatives to include bubbles in their projects. But I have yet to determine how to get on the sets of the large productions.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
In addition to being The Hollywood Bubbler I have been a practicing Speech Language Pathologist for over 30 years. I specialize in Augmentative Communication and help the most severely affected population learn how to communicate and access computers using technology. I also started modeling and acting just five years ago and have a women’s empowerment movement called #DYEfree2BME where I encourage women to love themselves unconditionally and embrace aging. I consider myself a Proaging Advocate and Silver Hair Model, having embraced my natural hair color over ten years ago.
So, before we go, how can our readers or others connect or collaborate with you? How can they support you?
