Rising Stars: Meet Tania Cobb of Pacific Beach/La Jolla

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tania Cobb

Hi Tania, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I have been a Registered Nurse for 12 years. I started my nursing career on a acute Psychiatric unit. I worked there for 3 1/2 years before transitioning into Labor and Delivery. I have worked on a high risk Women’s and Infants unit for the past 7 years in Antepartum, Labor and Delivery, Postpartum, and Lactation Consulting. Working with families during the greatest times of joy, and sometimes the greatest time of loss, has truly been an honor.

In my nursing career I have witnessed some of the limitations that Western Medicine and the hospital system can have on a persons overall health and well being. I experienced this to a deeper extent as I watched my loving father suffer battling Glioblastoma. I truly realized that people must have more options other them traditional Western Medicine to nurture and heal the mind, body, and soul. This is when I made the decision to join Arrive Health and Wellness.

At Arrive Health and Wellness, I have been able to offer my clients a holistic approach to self care, aimed at nurturing the whole person. I have been able to broaden my knowledge of integrative medicine and have experienced first hand how these therapies can truly impact a person’s well being.

I have been able to grow mu business through community events, fundraisers, and Pop-Up Events at local gyms and wellness centers. I have also been able to offer services at Revitalize Wellness PB to local community members. My greatest joy in nursing and my new business it meeting new people and being out in the community knowing that I can truly make a difference in those I serve. Being a nurse is not just a occupation for me, it is what I was born to do…it is my calling…one of my greatest passions! I have learned a lot from nursing and watching my father take his last breath…life is short, .do what matters in life…for yourself and for others. You have the power to truly make a difference in this beautiful world.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Growing my own business has definitely been a learning curve and growing experience for me. I have had to become accountable for growing my business and putting in the work make my business noticed in the community. I have had to get out of my “comfort zone” to get out there and share with the community what I have to offer.I have also had challenges with marketing and learning the profit side of the business. I wish I could give my services for free…as a RN I truly want to make. EVERYONE feel better. I have realized that I need enough overhead to stay afloat and keep my business running. I still have a lot to learn and have to do more to grow my business. I am motivated and know with my passion and hard work I will be able to provide the therapies I believe in with the community.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?

I am a seasoned nurse with 12 years of experience in the healthcare industry. Throughout my career, I have dedicated the last 7 years to working as a perinatal nurse in a high-risk women’s and infants unit.

Within this specialty, I have gained extensive knowledge and skill in various areas, including Labor and Delivery, Antepartum, Postpartum, and Lactation Consulting. Beyond my clinical experience, I have also had the privilege of assuming leadership roles such as Charge RN and Preceptor. These positions have allowed me to mentor and guide new staff, further enhancing my ability to provide exceptional care.

How do you define success?
Success means many things to me. Success is setting goals in life, putting in the work to achieve those goals, and when you have achieved those goals…make new ones. Success is not just measured by your occupation, owning a house, and having the material things in life that we all think that we need. Success to me is being a good person, day in and day out, making a difference everyday in this world. It can be as simple as smiling at a stranger or that eye contact you give your friend or colleague, telling them “ I hear you, you are not alone” Success is knowing that you have done ALL you can do make yourself happy AND make this work a better place to live for your loved ones and ALL that this world has.
