Rising Stars: Meet Tramaine Stallworth of Lemon Grove

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tramaine Stallworth.

Hi Tramaine , thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’m a creative marketing strategist and the founder of SOAR Creative Marketing, a boutique agency serving small businesses and founders across San Diego. I was born and raised in Southeast San Diego, and my work today is deeply connected to where I come from and what I want to see built in this region.

Before starting my company, I spent years working in both agency and in-house marketing roles, supporting established brands and organizations with strategy, messaging, and growth. That experience gave me a strong foundation in professional marketing standards and high-level execution.

Over time, I felt a clear pull to bring that level of strategy back to the small businesses and entrepreneurs in my own city — especially in communities like Southeast San Diego that are full of potential but often overlooked in terms of resources and visibility. I started SOAR Creative Marketing to bridge that gap and help local founders build brands that can truly grow and compete.

My faith has also been a central part of my journey. Marketing is my profession, but it also funds the outreach and ministry work I’m called to do in San Diego. In that sense, my business and my mission are connected — both are about helping people be seen, heard, and positioned for impact.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It hasn’t been a smooth road. In 2024, I went through a season where I lost nearly everything and had to rebuild my life from the ground up. That period included leaving an abusive marriage, experiencing major financial disruption, and navigating deep personal transition all at once.

SOAR Creative Marketing became part of that rebuilding process. What had started earlier as professional marketing work took on new meaning — it became both a path to stability and a way to move forward with purpose. Building the business during that season required resilience, faith, and the willingness to keep showing up even when circumstances were uncertain.

There were real challenges: rebuilding income, re-establishing footing professionally, and carrying the full responsibility of entrepreneurship while healing personally. But that season also clarified my direction. It strengthened my dependence on God, deepened my discipline, and sharpened my commitment to building something that creates opportunity — not just for myself, but for others in my community.

So the road hasn’t been smooth, but it has been transformative. This business isn’t just something I started — it’s something I rebuilt my life through.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I specialize in strategic marketing for small businesses, personal brands, and real estate professionals in San Diego. My work includes brand strategy, positioning, messaging, content strategy, and social media management — always with a focus on long-term growth rather than quick trends.

I’m known for bringing clarity and structure to businesses that feel scattered or invisible. Many of my clients are excellent at what they do but struggle to communicate their value or stand out in a competitive market. I help them define what makes them distinct and translate that into marketing that attracts the right audience.

I’m especially proud of helping San Diego founders strengthen their presence locally — whether that’s refining their niche, elevating their brand, or increasing visibility in their community. Seeing local businesses gain traction and confidence is incredibly meaningful to me because it contributes to the economic and creative growth of the city.

What sets me apart is my background working with larger brands combined with a deep commitment to small business growth. I bring agency-level strategy and standards to entrepreneurs who normally wouldn’t have access to that level of marketing. I’m also personally invested in San Diego — not just as a market, but as home — and I intentionally focus on helping businesses here grow and thrive.

Do you have any advice for those looking to network or find a mentor?
The biggest shift for me was realizing that networking works best when it’s rooted in genuine relationship rather than transaction. Especially in a city like San Diego, community and reputation travel quickly.

What has worked well for me is staying connected locally — building relationships with other founders, creatives, and professionals over time rather than only reaching out when I need something. Consistency and reliability naturally lead to mentorship and opportunity.

I also encourage entrepreneurs to seek mentors who understand their specific stage and industry. Someone who has built a small business locally will often be more helpful than someone successful in a completely different context.

Finally, don’t underestimate peer relationships. Some of the strongest support and collaboration comes from other entrepreneurs building alongside you in the same city. Those relationships create shared growth that benefits everyone — and ultimately strengthens the local business community. Most of all, trust God.
