We recently had the chance to connect with Alexandria Florez and have shared our conversation below.
Alexandria, we’re thrilled to have you with us today. Before we jump into your intro and the heart of the interview, let’s start with a bit of an ice breaker: When was the last time you felt true joy?
As my daughter approaced 2, I experienced immense joy from watching her transition from baby to toddler, with rapid development in language, walking, and personality. This year brought the delight of her emerging independence, the fun of shared giggles, and the profound love of connecting with her as a distinct, developing person. An experience that was lost during 1st child’s developing years.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Alexandria Florez, and my journey as a mother inspired me to create a business rooted in compassion, intention, and sensory acknowledgment. I realized a deep need within myself, and countless others, for meaningful human connection and gentle touch. This led me to creating in-person ASMR (Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response). Social media playforms have thousands of content creators. I wanted to lean into a real-world, in-person experience. Using the ever popular style known as ‘personal attention’ or ‘roleplay-makeup and spa’ scenerios. I use the techniques Ive come to enjoy simply by watching ASMR over the course of a few years.
Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. What part of you has served its purpose and must now be released?
I am actively releasing the version of me that felt the need to tread lightly through life. I believe in my ability to be seen, felt and heard with my creativity and intention. I feel empowered and supported by working with others, uplifting fellow entrepreneurs and creative alike.
“My recipe for life is not being afraid of myself, afraid of what I think or of my opinions,” – Eartha Kitt
What have been the defining wounds of your life—and how have you healed them?
I have always felt that I am not ‘enough’ a wound that has brought me down on many occasions. When the reality is I haven’t been allowed to grow from my mistakes or feel my emotions. I have finally given myself the grace to understand my thought process’ and grow since about 30 years old. Learning that being ‘enough’ truly means adapting, growing amd feeling connected to self.
Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. Is the public version of you the real you?
The public version of me is a little more animated as I am fairly shy.
Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. If immortality were real, what would you build?
I would build a facility for retired and injured professional performing artists, dancers and band members where they can receive all things wellness. Such as physical therapy, hydro therapy, chiropractics, massage, mental health access, etc.
With access to continued training in their craft. With quar5g4oup performance available for all who still have that drive and passion for performing!
