Chad Hargrove shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.
Hi Chad, thank you so much for joining us today. We’re thrilled to learn more about your journey, values and what you are currently working on. Let’s start with an ice breaker: What do you think is misunderstood about your business?
Photography as a whole is getting misconstrued by the power of our phones. But on the contrary, it’s also pushing digital photography into the future. It’s amazing how much we can do to make a photo look the way it does. As well, I would love everyone to know how much goes into one single photo we post from these luxury homes.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I am a self-taught photographer specializing in luxury architecture and commercial photography. I have been involved within the action sports, and fashion industries as well.
Okay, so here’s a deep one: Who were you before the world told you who you had to be?
I feel as though I have always been a bit manic about making things look certain ways, so I think I have always been destined for the creative field. I see things differently, and hope to keep showing how wonderful photos can be.
What fear has held you back the most in your life?
Regret, which ironically causes itself to worsen as you continue to miss out on things. Life is short, and I feel like since I have opened up my horizons to new places, food, etc, it has allowed me to better myself and my work.
So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. Where are smart people getting it totally wrong today?
We have left out the emotional part of a lot of things. People a lot of the time forget that there are consequences to everything, and I think the more information people are claiming they are familiar with, is actually not the case, and in return it is making everyone more defensive and on edge.
Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
I really hope my legacy lives on as someone who really loved his job and life, and how hard I worked in order to achieve the success I have. Also, I hope to have people speaking about my character and the way I treated others, regardless if it has to do with photography or not.
