Story & Lesson Highlights with Jesse Mowry of Fallbrook

Jesse Mowry shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.

Jesse, we’re thrilled to have you with us today. Before we jump into your intro and the heart of the interview, let’s start with a bit of an ice breaker: What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
Mornings on the mini farm start early — coffee in hand, boots on, feeding the animals.. It’s my quiet time to breathe in the fresh air, listen to the sounds of the farm, and thank God for another day to create and serve.

After chores, I settle into my morning Bible study — this is where I find my peace and direction for the day. I recently started a platform for Christian-based babes — a space for women to gather, whether you’re rooted in faith or just beginning to grow. Together, we learn, share the Word, and encourage one another to walk boldly in purpose. You can follow on Instagram Rooted.Revival.Co

Once the heart work is done, it’s time for the business side. I check emails, chat with my ambassadors, and map out my game plan — what I’m printing, designing, or photo shoots for the day , marketing courses. Some mornings, I’m packing orders and setting up content for the week; other days, that all waits until later as I also hold a job at a local salon in town and or helping my husband with his business as well.

Every day looks a little different, but the rhythm stays the same: faith first, farm life, and full hustle. 🤍

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Thank you for visiting and supporting my small business. I am truly delighted and deeply appreciative to have this opportunity to share my passion for all things rad and faith & American proud.  I’m Jesse (Jessica, Sass), SoCal native, living in a small town with my little mini farm (a dream of mine), my husband, our two  daughters. I started dabbling in designing and creative world from back in junior high days, slowly started selling at markets, local malls and surf shops in 2016, and finally started getting more serious about my little biz in 2019 when I started selling online & wholesale. When I’m not doing mom, wife life or being a farm mama or thinking about designs, I love being beachside, loooong beach walks, off roading, camping and campfires, date nights with the hubs and day dates with my 2 adult daughters who have their own busy schedule but still make time for me (grateful) hosting pool parties in our backyard I’m a toxic believer in “we didn’t come this far to only come this far” If you are thinking about it it’s meant for you there is a reason why the good lord puts certain things on our path, reason, season or lessonAt Local Babe Apparel, I embody gratitude, supporting local and small business from near and far. I love sharing my label as a San Diego native born and raised I am influenced by so much beauty and all things rad with the SoCal country twist. Forever chasing sunsets from the beach over the mountains to the desert.Let’s unite and make local businesses great again!Xo, Jesse

Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. What’s a moment that really shaped how you see the world?
A moment that really shaped how I see the world was becoming a mom.
Before having kids, life was about my goals and my path — what I wanted to do. But the moment I became a mother, everything changed. Suddenly, I wasn’t just living for myself anymore. I was responsible for another life — making sure they were safe, loved, and proud of me.

That shift changed everything about how I show up in the world. It taught me patience, purpose, and the importance of leading by example. I started asking myself: What kind of person do I want my kids to see me be? How I handle challenges, how I treat people, how I move forward when things get hard — all of it matters now in a deeper way.

I don’t just want to build something successful; I want to build something meaningful. Something my girls can look at one day and say, ‘Mom did that — and she did it with faith, hard work, and heart.’ Becoming a mom gave me a new kind of motivation — one rooted in love, legacy, and showing them that they can create anything they dream of.

Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
lol, Weakly! I am always doubting myself. Then I realize God didn’t bring me this far to only bring me this far. Every time I think about giving up another door or opportunity opens. Reminder, nothing good comes easy.

Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. What are the biggest lies your industry tells itself?
One of the biggest lies my industry tells itself is that you just have to ‘be yourself’ and everything will fall into place.
The truth is — being yourself takes real courage. You will be judged, no matter what. Standing rooted and grounded in who you are and what you believe isn’t always easy, especially when the world is constantly shifting and people’s opinions come and go.

There are days when it’s hard to stand firm, when the noise feels heavy. But I’ve learned that if you stay true to your purpose and weather the storm, it’s always worth it. The right people — the ones who are meant to be in your circle, your community, your brand — will always stand with you.

For me, it’s about faith over fear, staying grounded when it would be easier to blend in, and trusting that what’s built on truth and heart will always last.

Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: When do you feel most at peace?
I feel most at peace when customers reach out and share how something I created made a difference for them.
When someone takes the time to say thank you, leave a review, or just tell me they connect with what I’m building — that’s what fills my heart. Those are my kind of people — the ones who see the heart behind the brand, who think like I do, who value the same things.

It reminds me that I’m not just creating products — I’m creating community. Knowing that my work touches people and makes them feel seen or inspired brings me the deepest peace
