Kate Caro MS shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.
Hi Kate, thank you for taking the time to reflect back on your journey with us. I think our readers are in for a real treat. There is so much we can all learn from each other and so thank you again for opening up with us. Let’s get into it: When was the last time you felt true joy?
The last time I felt true joy was during my vacation in the Philippines last May, when I was able to spend time with my family and best friends. My family, including my pets, keep me grounded and remind me of how far I’ve come, inspiring me to keep working hard for our shared dreams. My best friends are the people I can truly be myself with, without fear of judgment. They’ve supported me since our college days, and being with them reminded me of how important it is to share both the good and the difficult moments with the people who matter most.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Kate Caro, and I’m a content creator, photographer, and digital marketing specialist. As a content creator, I love bringing a client’s or brand’s vision to life in a way that aligns with their marketing goals. I’ve had the opportunity to collaborate with exciting San Diego events and attractions, sharing my experiences through Reels and TikTok, as well as partner with well-known brands like Fabletics, Yitty, top Korean skincare brands Abib and Parnell, and even Lady M cakes.
What makes my work unique is my flexibility. I enjoy exploring different niches and expressing creativity across a wide range of themes. Alongside content creation, I’m also a photographer specializing in weddings, portraits, and family photography. Recently, I’ve even started incorporating my content creation style into wedding projects.
As a digital marketing specialist, I help businesses grow their online presence through website optimization, SEO research, and social media and website audits with actionable recommendations. At the heart of everything I do is the drive to tell stories, whether for a brand, a family, or an event in a way that’s authentic, creative, and impactful.”
Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. What part of you has served its purpose and must now be released?
A part of me that has served its purpose and must now be released is my younger self, who lived in survival mode and carried a lot of self-doubt because of unsupportive relatives and social beauty standards. That version of me helped me get through tough times, but I no longer need to hold on to her struggles. Now, I try to show up as the adult I once needed, someone who can make her own choices without fear or worry. I’m finally in a place where I can focus on healing, happiness, and creating the life I want for myself.
What’s something you changed your mind about after failing hard?
Something I changed my mind about after failing hard is the idea of forcing what isn’t meant for me. I’ve learned to trust the timing of things because sometimes failure isn’t the end, it’s a sign of redirection and the start of something better aligned for me.
I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. Is the public version of you the real you?
Yes. The public version of me is real, but like anyone, I show different sides of myself depending on who I’m with and what role I’m in. I’ve learned to adapt and play different roles in my life, and having those different sides doesn’t make me less authentic, it just reflects the many layers of who I am.
Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. When do you feel most at peace?
I feel most at peace when I’m at home, cuddling with my husband and our dog, sharing our favorite food or watching our favorite shows together. Those simple, quiet moments bring me the most comfort and happiness.
