Oh, I’m wandering for sure! But it’s a fun path to wander.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Lauren Souter, and I own Ryker Photography. I specialize in editorials, portraits and retouching. My business is named after my son and I enjoy every minute of it! I’ve always loved taking pictures and I’ve also always loved editing them so why not make a career out of it!
Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. Who taught you the most about work?
I worked for the same person for almost 20 years. He taught me everything I know about the restaurant and bar industry and has really shaped who I am as a person.
What did suffering teach you that success never could?
I think suffering just shows you a different side of things that you may not have seen otherwise. It give you more compassion and patience and maybe a little more motivation.
Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
They would definitely say my son first and foremost. Being a good mom and raising the best person I can is what means the most to me.
Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. If you knew you had 10 years left, what would you stop doing immediately?
Paying rent.
Just kidding. (sort of) I would stop stressing about the little things and start enjoying everything.
