Story & Lesson Highlights with Mr Wilson

We recently had the chance to connect with Mr Wilson and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Mr, thank you so much for taking time out of your busy day to share your story, experiences and insights with our readers. Let’s jump right in with an interesting one: What is a normal day like for you right now?
So happy to have the opportunity to share with you readers a normal day in the life of Revamp Auto Shine. Revamp Auto Shine is a mobile detailing company based out of San Diego, we also offer exclusive services such as paint correction, ceramic coatings, and are putting our feet in the door of window tinting. As of right now it’s been a little slow but on a typical day we try to fit in 3 – 4 details . We also have one or 2 days out of the week where we take care of our bi-weekly maintenance clients , they usually love these deals due to the affordability.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Josh and I am the owner of Revamp Auto Shine. At Revamp Auto Shine, we believe that your vehicle deserves the best care—without the hassle. As a leading mobile auto detailing service in San Diego, CA, we bring top-tier car care directly to you, whether you’re at home, work, or anywhere in the city.

Your car endures daily exposure to sun damage, road debris, and wear & tear, which can dull its shine and affect its longevity. Our professional detailing services are designed to restore and protect your vehicle, ensuring it looks pristine year-round.

Okay, so here’s a deep one: Who saw you clearly before you could see yourself?
The one and most important person who saw me before I could see myself is my MOM. Her name is Esperanza and she always believed that I should and will be better. Weather I liked it or not my mom always let me know when I was doing wrong.

What did suffering teach you that success never could?
That no one is going to save you, you gotta save yourself. When your at the top or have money everyone wants to help you out, once the success is gone a lot of fake friendships leave.

Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? What are the biggest lies your industry tells itself?
One of the biggest lies that is told within the detailing industry, mainly by clients, is the fact that a carwash and a detail are the same thing. Not noting the fact that a carwash is 10 mins and a detail at least 1 hour, they are very different. We use 1000$ tools to take the years of dirt and grim that a normal quick vac wouldn’t get out. RAS detailing has taken care of and surprised many customers with their own vehicles.

Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. What do you think people will most misunderstand about your legacy?
I think that people will most understand about my empire once it’s built, is that it is possible for a lot of people to succeed with enough effort and hard work. Not giving up and being organized. Coming from a low income family I never thought it would be possible.
